I liked the crowds reaction to Sturridge being substituted. It looked to me the whole stadium were aplauding him like they were saying "We love you Daniel. Ok you missed those chances but it doesn't matter we know you can put those away. Take our love and sort yourself out", or something along those lines. He look bemused receiving the aclamation somthing that is typical of somone who is not used to beeing on the reciving end of love.

    End of rambling.

Would take Harry Kane as a straight swap for Sturridge the way he's playing at the moment. At least Kane puts a shift in.

**** all chance and they would want about double Sturridge's value for Kane.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

And if not maybe Barca would swap Suarez for him?

Ha ha you chumps! I know we have no chance, it's just a thought/dream that's all.

Seeing as this thread has turned into daft fantasy land I'm with you on this one.

The energy, movement, and pressure Origi displayed when he came on was a world away from what we saw with Sturridge. Even Carragher commented that something didn't look right with Sturridge.

I've seen a few posts elsewhere suggest it could be a Torres type situation, where he's lost a couple of yards of pace. He certainly runs like Torres did after his injuries - like he had a turd in his pants.

I'm still on the fence and willing to see how he does until the end of the season, and whether his energy and movement improve as a result of more games.

To me it looked like Sturridge worked hard from about 55 mins onward, getting towards the time he might be subbed so he starts chasing around and closing Lloris etc...

Before then nothing, and receiving a ball in acres of space, having 3 touches and playing a ball 5 yards sideways isn't a 'great assist' it's a simple pass made by Lallana's run and Coutinho's finish.

There was an instance 1st half where he thought about chasing Rose (I think) back after Clyne was caught upfield but didn't bother.
He chased 70 yards back to do exactly that for England against Holland in the week.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.
