Unless the "extra training" is a 1 on 1 session to check he's fit before he jumps into real training.

Being Hodgson probably too much to hope though.

Dont get me wrong, I have nothing personal against the old fossil... its just he keeps ****ing up Liverpool despite not even being the manager.

I imagine he is on his last legs, although expectations for England are now so low that he could probably keep the job indefinitely.

I think as an insurance policy we should have one of those psychically linked pain devices fitted so he automatically experiences the pain from any injury Sturridge suffers while on England duty
.... I am sure we put the R&D in when Redknapp was still playing.

Failing that, threaten to torch all of the worlds Storck and Chupa Chups factories if it happens again?

Honest question here lads, would you swap sturro for Huguain? Straight swap, potentially be good for both players?

Why would Sturridge go to Napoli? Even if I ignore that probably not - Higgy-baby goes does tend to want it all on a plate from what I've seen of him. Not a fighter, mind you Daniel isn't either.....I don't think Klopp would be that interested.

Why would he? He would be the 'man' there, no competition for his position, arguably a 'slower' paced league... Both are similar in terms of work rate, however Huguain I think tends to have better game intelligence off the ball, finding positions rather than dribbling with the ball like Dan sometimes frustratingly too much.. Hence this perception that Huguain 'likes it on the plate' is over the top imo

Would keep a fit Sturridge over Higuain. Sturridge for me is on the same level as Higuaín at the very least when fully fit, and would always offer a serious goals to game ratio.

The only problem is trying to find that fully fit Sturridge. Nuts to think that in the three and a half seasons he has been with us that he has missed more games than he has played.

Higuaín on paper boasts some really impressive stats, and he was better than a goal a game over the course of the league season just gone, but whenever I watch him play I see a guy who often fluffs his lines in a big game and he seems to be less likely to create a goal out of nothing in the way that Sturridge can.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Higuain would be my choice simply because he isn't made of straw.

Gutted for us. He'll come back broken & miss the start of the season I'll bet.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

That's the way it seems to go with Sturridge, I'm not doubting his ability ect but, with his injury record you can't put your faith in him going a full Season without being out the Team for a long period

Class player but we need another striker. The fact Sturridge is a top class striker and we have Origi there... I just can't see us splashing the cash on another striker. Maybe if we get Benteke & Balotelli off the books we might have a few quid to spend.

But yeah we categorically can't rely on him over the season. We've been left short up top so many times because of this.

we were **** defensively and lacking in midfield beef, yet we still managed to bang in over 100 goals and come runners up. kind of shows the importance of decent reliable attackers.

we are unlikely to every get another 100 league goals in the near future so we also need to make sure we strengthen in all the other areas.

no more protoges or kids with potential [for the first team], we need battle hardened killers.
