I dont think he is limited to the middle. He can be very effective cutting in. I think tactically we were very restriced if their box, all credit to Southampton. Perhaps Sturridge not pressing as much would have given us the space we needed just to open them up.

Tactics should not be a straightjacket, flexibility to change things is the key. Genegpressing may not always work 100%. I think Sturridge provides a greater threat if he is allowed some latitude. It is an amazing option the have if Plan A fails.

We are pretty much saying we don't trust our squad when we are playing jaded, tired players rather than players who are fresher. We're going to rotate in the next few weeks so why not rotate now? I thought the front 3 were well off the pace yesterday.

No issue with him not starting, but giving him only 12mins took the piss a bit IMO.

Yeah, I'd have wanted him on sooner, but we were still creating good chances, Firmino would usually score from his and their back nine really had a good day, specially our future CB.
          * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Better than the 3-4 Origi got - not sure what the point of that was unless mane was gassed/carrying a knock.

Hmmm.. statistically we did not take those... it is no good making chances if everyone forgot their shooting boots... two on target, was it? Put things into perspective to Southamptons zero. We dominated, but were utterly ineffective.

Sometimes you need someone to do something unexpected to break a highly disciplined defence. If you are expecting high pressing, you can counter this by being compacy with men behind the balll, and look for a longer ball. Fortunately Southampton were nowhere near as effective in attack as they were in defence. But then nor were we.

Im not going to criticise the manager, as hindsight is 20/20... with a bit of a twerk.

Just thought the sub should have come earlier, as we seemed a bit predictable. Not that anyone played that badly. For Klopp its one of those good problems, I think...

Does anyone remember when Hodgeson was in charge... lols. Imagine having somone good both on the pitch and the bench back then... No, I cant either.

According to Rio Ferdinand, Harry Kane is on a different level to Sturridge and therefore should demand a higher wage -

Kane has scored six goals in all club competitions this season. Sturridge has scored four.

Kane will probably end up replacing Ibra... both overrated imho.

Just as well no one cares what Rio has to say about anything.

Kane is actually a very good finisher and grabbed a lot of goals on a consistent basis last year. To be fair to him he's missed a lot of this season through injury.

Another aspect of his game is his hold up play and work ethic, he works really hard for a striker and he's a big strong lad too, a lot tend to forget that.
