Its a pity, but I can't see him being at Liverpool in a year's time. Those injuries have taken their toll.
He performs better with a partner up front - no doubt about it.

can't lead the line on his own, doesn't have the legs or the stamina. Class finisher he is but short of Klopp totally changing his system and I dont think its going to happen from sturridge under Klopp. No doubting how talented he is but he does seem to have lost that electric first 5 yards.

Sturridge is catching a lot of ****, but shouldn't overlook that he was in a front 3 with 2 players who aren't nearly as effective in the wide spots as they are in their usual positions.

Better to have Sturridge out wide and Firmino in the centre. The attack was abysmal last night.

            Souness had Beardsley
            Houllier had Fowler
            Rafa had Alonso (?)
Woy had anyone who could play
            Brendan had Suarez ()
            Klopp has Sturridge

Players that were great but they let them go/couldn't get the best from them.

Souness never played beardsley, did he?

He binned him off to Everton where he did well and went to the Geordies where he was lethal with Andy Cole

Yeah... i know that... but I cant remember if he actually saw beardsley play before he thought "That Dean Saunders has a ****ing magnificent perm"

When asked by Sky Sports’ Geoff Shreeves if he is injury prone he said:

“No. Define injury-prone. I’ve played many games for Liverpool. Last season I played a lot, finished the top scorer in all competitions. Last season, regardless of the number of games I played, I still would do my best on the pitch, that is what’s important. It’s not about whether you’re injured or not, it’s about what you do when you’re on the pitch.

“Of course there are 38 games in a Premier League season, and you want to be available for every single one – and all the cup games too!

“Every player wants to play every game and be successful, that’s football. There are times when you’re not fit and its about how you come out of that, how you rebound and put yourself back on the pitch.

“Every player has their heart on their sleeve, they’ll battle through injuries – I’ve played on many injuries before; knocks, tears, everything. It’s about pushing yourself to your limits for the club and I feel I’ve done that.”

Shreeves then asked Sturridge how it felt to be left on the bench, with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp often choosing to start with Roberto Firmino as his central striker.

“It hurts inside but it’s part of the game, every player past and present has dealt with the things I’m going through now.

“So it’s not time to get the violin out, you’ve got to dig in, fight, show your character, put your best foot forward when you’re put on a football pitch and give your all when you’re not on the pitch. Then, when you come on, you’ve got to do your best, it’s simple.

“There are no qualms or complaints from my side. I believe I’m the best striker Liverpool has, that’s my opinion.

“The manager and everyone else is entitled to their opinion as well. You have to have self-belief though. It’s the manager that picks the team so if, at that specific moment he doesn’t feel I’m the best striker for the job, that’s his decision. I have to take it on the chin, I cannot be upset about it.

“You have to take the rough with the smooth in football, you can never take things personally.”

Coutinho obviously lacks sharpness and Klopp has decided to bring him up to speed progressively.

Not his fault if the area of the pitch Sturridge plays was overcrowded and we couldn't move the ball fast enough to him when he was free. Vent your anger at the defending not at Sturridge. That's stupid.
                                Are we winning?
