You're all mad. Last season was his best game return in 3years and he couldn't be relied on when needed. If a team is stupid enough to take a risk on him we should be cashing in, even if he's not replaced (obviously I'd prefer if he was) I wouldn't be arsed as he'll just be keeping a physio busy anyway.

He doesn't even fit our style so I've no idea what Klopp will be thinking. Hopefully I'm wrong but I don't see a way back for Sturridge.

I read a few articles yesterday where Klopp stated that he had to improve tactically & have more options with our formations. So maybe that's how Sturidge will fit it with Klopp style of play as in we change our style at times to fit players strengths? Just a thought

Missing the point. He can't improve tactically if he's lying on a physio table. It's harsh but three years is a pattern. Next season will be more of the same. Like I said I hope I'm wrong as it's awfully frustrating for the lad I'm sure but I wouldn't count on him in any way all the same.

world cup year and with liverpool with something to play for it will be 13/14 all over again

he also managed to stay off the fitness table the last 4-5 months of the euros season with league cup against former club and europa run to play for

Perhaps Klopp has seen fitness reports showing Sturridge has improved further?

As far as I know there's no metric for injury proclivity. Other than age and history.

It's rumoured that he'd be too expensive to replace and I get that. The market this year for top premiership clubs is bonkers. That should have been predicted and perhaps we should have gambled a bit more last year... Although no CL football was hindering us then.

I'm not missing the point at all but I just honed in on your comment that he doesn't even fit our style of play. I agree his fitness has been a major problem but if the medical ppl believe they've fixed him (huge if I know) & Klopp has realised that he himself needs to adapt our playing style for obvious reasons (European matches & beating the bottom park the bus sides) then Sturridge could in fact have a future in Klopp's squad.

Not a metric per se but perhaps he's sustaining levels after harder training sessions which point to a full recovery or something similar.

The encouraging thing with Klopp's quotes yesterday, were that he's after tactical flexibility. People forget that in 13/14, and the back end of last season, we played with a diamond. Sturridge always had a strike partner, and excelled. I don't like Sturridge playing up top on his own, and if we're doing that regularly, then no thanks.

However, thinking about it, he's going to be 28 in September, and he's on £120,000 per week. Bringing in a top striker, and being unable to get top whack for Sturridge is perhaps a problem. It'd take a large offer I think, perhaps around the £30million mark for us to consider selling him.

28? He is in his prime FFS....if he was 31 plus yes £30m+ would make sense but he is a high level player who will only be good for us for at least the next 2 years. Keep!!!

Is this not just the club telling potential suitors to not bother with ****ty low offers and to put serious money forward to buy him?

Sturridge is a game changer - either him or Firmino would be a great option from the bench
