There seem to be obvious quick wins with using the squad for the first 11. One of them is bringing in Sturridge for Firmino, but this is probably the most awkward of all of them to make work as he just doesn't seem to have the work rate the other forward players do.

The injuries have taken their toll, and the Klopp style doesn't allow for the limitations he has.

Its more than just rusty for me

I keep saying it but hes lost a couple of yards of pace, whether thats down to the numerous injuries or a mental block (doesnt want to run flat out in case he gets injured) I dont know

But thats not coming back with game time, his touch will come back and his shooting prowess but the player from that Suarez season is gone forever and aint coming back

It was a bad miss when he was one on one with the keeper.

He could have been the match winner for us if he'd bagged that one. He's normally pretty deadly from those positions - I think he had more time.

Harsh as it may be but i've been fearing he's gone for years and i've seen no evidence to the contrary. Since Klopp came in, his time was up. He's ill-suited to Klopp's gameplan and there's 150k reasons a week as to why he is still here.

That isn't knee-jerk, a few us us have been saying the same for over a year.

FWIW, Carragher asked him who he was moving on to in the summer to his face.

I'm not defending myself, he's for moving on or winding down his contract. I'm 100% sure i won't be convinced of anything else.

I agree you dont just become **** over night. He is only getting games or game time here and there, cant get a run of form and confidence going.

Sturridge used to come back after injury and gobble them chances up.

If our best finisher can't put away easy chances and is having confidence issues in front of goal we are fooked

Agree that games would help but he's gone awful and unfit and it's highly unlikely that will change. Plus he's always been selfish which doesn't help and this will never change either. Shame really as on his day he's sublime.

We need to clear out all the players from the Rodgers era. They lack the physical and mental toughness to compete at the highest level and under all circumstances.

We laugh at Fellaini and Matic but they don't half get stuck in and deliver when it counts.
