im not really that arsed about sturridge anymore. ings and solanke are decent subs and can also take part in the pressing game better than studge can, and can also cover the wide positions if needed.

sturridge isnt a prolific scorer any more, he is a bench warmer and occasional sub now. his glory days are long gone im afraid.

Sturridge doesn't offer a difference often enough. Most times, he comes on and immediately drops deep whereas Solanke and Ings are in and around the box. We like to be busy and those two offer you that.

I think he wants that one last big move and payday before he's past his best, been there a long time doing a great job.

Only problem is that he's not similar to Firminho, so when swapping strikers you have to change the style. That can be a great 'option' or it can be Asprilla to Newcastle.

I think with a player that good, you make the option work and it seems he's going for about half market price. I'd be amazed if we're not monitoring the **** out of that situation. Maybe wages or something else are the prime factor.
