He can try all he likes, he never had that game before his injuries and he certainly doesn't now.

studge has the touch and flair, but he doesnt have the legs for the movement and pressing that bobby has.

Not sure if he’s worth persevering with tbh. He looks to be working hard but spent so much time coming deep looking for the ball when we needed someone in the box to get on the end of something. 75% of possession & the out n out striker is coming deep looking for the ball doesn’t make sense to me.

He’s certainly looking more impressive than Origi is though. Not that it’s saying much though.

Daniel Sturridge determined to kick-start Liverpool career after West Brom loan and Besiktas transfer talk

The England striker has featured in all three pre-season games so far but doesn't see himself as being in the shop window

Daniel Sturridge has vowed to stay and fight for his place at Liverpool.

The England striker was shipped out on loan to relegated West Brom last January, and was last month linked with a move to Turkish giants Besiktas.

But the 28-year-old is back at Anfield and determined to prove himself to boss Jurgen Klopp, having featured in all three of the Reds' pre-season friendlies so far this summer.

“I see myself staying at Liverpool, hopefully being part of the team week in, week out,” said Sturridge.

“Pre-season is going well, so for me it's keeping my head down and building on that. I’m excited about the season ahead and it feels great to be back.”

Sturridge is set to feature against Blackburn on Thursday at Ewood Park before Klopp's squad embark on their US tour.

“Pre-season has started well for me and the team,” he added. “I am feeling great and can't wait to get the season under way.

“We have the tour to come where we face some great teams like Man United, Man City and Dortmund.”

Week in week out? Very much doubt it, though I would prefer him off the bench to Ings or Solanke

Well he can't very well say "hopefully i'll be part of the squad, maybe a place on the bench and if I'm lucky a few minutes in a nothing cup comp"
                Really?

I’d love for him to get playing for us again with some consistency. Would be a great option off the bench

He'd be a great option if he could stay fit and can get back to the level he was at 3 or so years ago. I don't know that that is realistic

He'd be a class number 10 in Italy where he's not required to do much running.

TBH i can't believe he's not injured in preseason yet. Im counting down the days

Klopp and the medics have done a great job with Daniel. He realises this himself and therefore wants to stay.

He was reasonably injury free when used as a substitute in a long run of games for us. However, when loaned out to West Dinasaur Albion he was injured fairly early on, possibly due to train methods, recovery times, etc

He is top top quality. I'm looking forward to him staying, playing and providing us with a threatening option in games, whether its as a starter or coming of the bench. The new role he has been given is obviously less explosive and kinder to his body

I quite like the idea of Sturridge + Brewster as our backup forwards. I think Solanke needs to go somewhere to start games to improve and Ings should be starting somewhere.

I love Sturridge but can't help but feel it'll end badly for him. He's not going to get much game time is he. Apart from the fact he's on the wane, he just doesn't work in a Klopp side. Even if he reinvents as a 10, we don't really play with a 10 so how is this going to work out for him?
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
