when you consider that we've got Gerrard, Allen, Lucas, Henderson in that area it beggars belief that we can't put put a competitive and energetic midfield.

Our biggest problems are in midfield and tactics aren't clever either.

Just need to get through first 15 mins of 2nd half and the pressing by United will slow down. They've choked the life out if us, but last 10mins, as they tired, we started to edge into their box as they couldn't close us down as quick.

Other than that, players like Cleverley and Kagawa have given us problems by bursting forwards after an initial pass to create triangles. Gerrard is static in the midfield and allows players to run off him and its killing us.

That said, when United drop off, Gerrard will start to dictate. Tough decisions for Rodgers.

Brendan's not going to do any favours to Allen if he keeps him on. At the moment he looks more likely to be involved in a United goal than a Liverpool one.

Highlights our desperate need for a No 10/attacking midfielder/creative mid. We simply don't have one.

The issue with Allen is that he's poor when he's pressed and denied time on the ball, this wasn't much of an issue with Swansea, but when you play for LFC most teams are going to press us.
