We bought Morientes who was a quality player so sometimes transfers don't work out. If we had a team full of rubbish players we wouldn't be 7th in the table.Originally posted by Bender View Postneed to buy Quality .........but we pay premium prices for Rubbish
Not good enough for Liverpool is the more appropriate description. Are we winning?

Any of our young keepers doing well? I think Jones for me has to go, I like the guy but he's not good enough & I get the feeling that we'll be happy to cash in on Pepe this summer due to age/form/him wanting to go back to Spain, if so I'd love to see us bring in a top young (ish) keeper and promote from the ranks for the number 2 position.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think he's 'got it' too. I think we should keep him at the club in the first team squad and see how he develops this and next season before considering letting him go.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostYeah I wouldn't even think about selling Shelvey. He seems to really polarise opinion. I think he's got it. Maybe a year on loan at somewhere like Wigan would do him good.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

He's still only 20 though and I can't see him getting much game time.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostI think he's 'got it' too. I think we should keep him at the club in the first team squad and see how he develops this and next season before considering letting him go.
I'd give him a season on loan. By the time he comes back, Gerrard - his main obstacle to getting in the team IMO - will be another year older, and Shelvey should be improved. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I mentioned above that Shelvey has been out on loan before, how willing do you think he would be to got out on loan again? The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Maybe it would be best, but I have visions of him, Bredan and Gerrard and 80s movie training montages and stuff.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostHe's still only 20 though and I can't see him getting much game time.

If he's a reasonable lad then I'm sure he'd understand that 30-40 games at Wigan over the course of the season would be a lot more beneficial to his development than a game a month for LFC against ****.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostI mentioned above that Shelvey has been out on loan before, how willing do you think he would be to got out on loan again?
The Blackpool move seemed to really work for him so a season with a lower-level PL team would be something for all parties to consider imo.
