We bought Morientes who was a quality player so sometimes transfers don't work out. If we had a team full of rubbish players we wouldn't be 7th in the table.

Any of our young keepers doing well? I think Jones for me has to go, I like the guy but he's not good enough & I get the feeling that we'll be happy to cash in on Pepe this summer due to age/form/him wanting to go back to Spain, if so I'd love to see us bring in a top young (ish) keeper and promote from the ranks for the number 2 position.

Yeah I wouldn't even think about selling Shelvey. He seems to really polarise opinion. I think he's got it. Maybe a year on loan at somewhere like Wigan would do him good.

I think he's 'got it' too. I think we should keep him at the club in the first team squad and see how he develops this and next season before considering letting him go.

If he's a reasonable lad then I'm sure he'd understand that 30-40 games at Wigan over the course of the season would be a lot more beneficial to his development than a game a month for LFC against ****.

The Blackpool move seemed to really work for him so a season with a lower-level PL team would be something for all parties to consider imo.
