Yeah he really is a terrific player to watch. No chance of us getting him of course, but if PSG wanted to play silly buggers over Coutinho, then I would like to see us to the same back and look for the likes of Veratti or Lucas Moura.
Actually would like to see us go for Lucas Moura anyway and hang on to Coutinho

How can he not want to come with that sort of incentive available to him?

yeah Moura could be a potential world beater. At 23 it's time for him to step up to the next level. We need to keep hold of Coutinho, sick of seeing our best players sold every ****ing season... it's very frustrating.

Would prefer to keep Coutinho or at the very least (if the player himself is pushing for a move) hold him to at least another year of his contract and tell him to do a Suarez/Alonso in order to get his move.
We as a fanbase seem to be saying this every season for a hell of a long time now, but we need to be buying genuine quality to go straight into the first team rather than getting six or seven players each window who might improve the first team and squad.
Would be much happier to see us spend most of our budget buying two (or three if we were really lucky) quality players in the summer and maybe another in the January window than bulking up the squad numbers with another big batch of maybe players.I don't hate people. Yeah completely agree, it does seem it's season after season of squad fillers or players that were meant to be first teamers, that aren't good enough and turn out to be squad fillers.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostWould prefer to keep Coutinho or at the very least (if the player himself is pushing for a move) hold him to at least another year of his contract and tell him to do a Suarez/Alonso in order to get his move.

Desperately need a few game changers & I think the for the clubs image we need a few marquee signings to boost up some hype, get people talking.

Very difficult to do that when there the big clubs, and the resurrected challengers i.e. Dortmund, Atletico, back on the scene.
That's why I believe FSG brought Klopp in. He has an eye for a player who isn't a big name, and can turn a group of them into a sensational team. What we need is for the so called big players in our squad who could be world class i.e. Coutinho, to make that step up.

Yes the richer clubs and the clubs usually in the mix for silverware will be hard to beat when it comes to the chase for a number of players, but every quality player is not a big name and there are only so many players that the richer clubs can actually buy so there will always be a number of quality players moving each season to clubs who are not one of those richer/regular silverware chasing clubs.
Plus it is not as though we are a cash poor club. We can pay big wages compared to the majority of clubs and we can pay big transfer fees compared to most clubs and we do have a quality manager at the helm.
I agree that some of our own so called big names need to up their games, but we do need to be adding quality around those players too.
A lot of players might look at us as the sort of challenge they would relish being part of, and even if those players see us as a way to get a move to a Real or Barca I would sooner have ambitious players on board for three to five years (ideally I would love to have them for their best years of course) a la Suarez/Torres/Alonso/Masch etc., than bringing in a bunch of players who would see arriving at Liverpool as them having made it and not busting a gut from then on.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Liverpool could be handed a boost after reports in Brazil indicated that Roberto Firmino will not go to the Olympic Games.
Brazil are allowed to pick three over-age players in their 18-man squad, and it was thought that Firmino would be picked after he missed out on Dunga’s squad for the Copa America.
Instead, coach Rogerio Micale has left both him and Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho out of his provisional squad. Coutinho played at the Copa America for Brazil this summer.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Sorry mate my badOriginally posted by RedReet View PostI was joking mate. Any fool can see that the players (or agent) forced through the moves and that FSG reinvested the money back in the squad, so to suggest that they are responsible for our best players leaving is ludicrous.
should have had my Weetabix this morning
