    A few:

    1. One is Brazilian, the other is Spanish
    2. One has fuzzy hair, the other has a slick quif
    3. Coutinho says he has no tattoos, but Suso has

    Football wise, I'm not sure

If they're both played out of their favoured position , maybe no

He's a lot faster, more skillful, more experienced and further along the line in his development.

I don't see him as being more technically skilled than Suso but he does have more pace, moves better without the ball, and is a goal threat, which Suso is not atm.

              Me too.

**** me in the internet age posters are infallible but everyone else is fair game for criticism.

I think Vickery offers interesting and often incisive analysis on several leagues and lots of players that I know very little about.

I've also heard him say on several occasions when asked about particular players that he doesn't know much about them or hasn't seen them.

So in this respect he 's far less of a bull****ter than the likes of Hunter who reckon they know everything about everyone and imply they are on personal terms with the majority.

He looks to be a superior dribbler too.

I like Vickery's stuff a lot better than the bull**** written by lots of other journalists on leagues and players I know quite a lot about.

I find that's the thing with experts though, the more you know, the less expert you realise they are. Maybe that doesn't apply to Vickery but I doubt I'll ever take enough interest in South American football to find out.
                  .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Can't see coutinho starting but then again he's been given the 10 shirt which does the exact opposite of what we were thinking about not expecting too much too soon.

it adds a lot of pressure to the player. If he asked for it and wanted it its a good sign but with that comes expectation.

Can see him being an impact player coming off the bench and I definitely don't think he will play the no.10 role because if anyone will play that its Suarez.

Henderson on the left cutting in allowing Enrique to move forward in straight lines, and ditto downing with Johnson. Both players will put in a shift to cover their fullbacks and give Suarez more creative freedom behind sturridge.

coutinho can replace downing later on in matches if we need more threat.

Henderson on the left would be a complete waste, Suarez should stay left oR right of Sturridge, even though we all know that against the majority of opposition Suarez will be allowed to roam wherever he likes, against the big teams he will probably be expected to track back a bit more but hopefully not to the extent that he did against arsenal, when everybody was sitting far too deep and leaving Sturridge isolated.

I think coutinho will play on the opposite side of Sturridge, not sure the team will have enough defensive capability in midfield if he was to take hendersons spot in front of gerrard and lucas

It's just not possible. I'd take most of his opinions on players with a pinch of salt. Still he's a decent journalist though in general.

                              Here is what Vickery wrote:

I am a Liverpool fan in Jamaica. I receive news that we are going to sign Phillipe Coutinho from Inter Milan. Who is he? Jason Ricketts

He's a 20-year-old Brazilian, who can play as a support striker, working the flanks, or as an attacking midfielder. I saw plenty of him on the way up, with Vasco da Gama, and I was always concerned that he was declared a wonderkid before he had actually done anything. During this time (2009/10) I also feared that at the top level he was a bit lightweight and one-footed (the right) to thrive at the top level.

I haven't seen much of him since his move to Italy two and-a-half years ago. But it doesn't surprise me that much that he has struggled to make an impression - which is not to say that he's not capable of it. But there is such a huge gap between promise and reality, and so many fall through the crack. He still has plenty of time on his side, he has filled out physically and by all accounts he had a reasonable loan spell last season with new Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino at Espanyol. I would welcome comments from anyone who followed his progress in Spain.

                              We come not to play.

Yeah, pretty much what i heard him say on radio.

It is a bit disconcerting that Inter let him leave so easily and for not that much cash.

But, it wouldn't be the first nor the last time a club cocked up and let what they thought was only a good player go, who then went on to be a great player at a different club.
