I think there is total mutual self interest at the minute. After a genuinely good season I don't think Coutinho would need us as a platform and we have seen how likely sentiment/loyalty is to play into players decisions about their futures.

      I know.

      Annoying isn't it.

the way coutinho played at the back end of the season should give plenty of encouragement to suso.

the season started with a 433 which doesnt allow for a creative playmaker through the middle as such, but ended with something resembling the 4231 which does.

I think suso could end up with some game time this year as coutinho's understudy.

IMO right now Suso is nowhere near the same level as Coutinho, which is why we need another couple of quality attacking players such as Eriksen who can also occupy that role.

we've only every seen him play 433 under rodgers so when he plays as the creator in behind the front man like coutinho did off sturridge, he might show us something different because its more his natural game. He's definitely got all the talent.

where he needs to improve is his goal scoring.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Looks like you'll be staying in the number 10 position that you owned (now that Mkhitaryan isn't joining) and rightly so!
