I don't think he was bad tonight. He played some wonderful balls to Sterling in the first half. It's just that the movement in front of him has been piss poor. We must persist with him but it's a toss up between him and Llallana atm.
    Are we winning?

But he was bordering on exceptional in some games last season. He can't just lose that overnight.... It's still in there somewhere...

Although generally it will be Lallana that gets the nod, Suso also has to be looking at that performance and fancying his chances of displacing Coutinho currently.

Waste of space so far this season, thought there was a glimmer of hope after his cameo against Everton, so much for that!

No we musn't persist when he is playing like crap.

A toss up? it's not even close when it comes to a choice out of him and Lallana.

Good players link up with other good players, and he has a great on-field bond with Sturridge...I also think him and Lallana in the same team will work for us. But for now he's driving me crazy. He's been carrying this injury which *must* be affecting him. Now is no time to be giving up on him though. He's still a kid.
He has real genius about his play and the way he handles the ball is rare. Hes a delight to watch but his game is being hampered by a lack of movement infront of him. He has great vision but if players aren't making runs he cant do his job. But its no surprise that Daniel sturridge and Philip coutinho are on the same wavelength.

Daniel loves to run in behind and Philip can find him all from anywhere on the pitch.

Coutinho is our David Silva. Unfortunately, David Silva would look useless in our team right now with no runners around him.

Coutinho has a long way to go before he can even be remotely considered to be our David Silva.

BigChief and Nigel consider him to be our David Silva, see above!

Lol, yeah. Silva's problem is staying fit for long periods, but he's way above Coutinho's level, perhaps not in raw ability but definitely in consistency.

Coutinho really has to get back to basics, because right now that is where his problems lye.
