I don't think he was bad tonight. He played some wonderful balls to Sterling in the first half. It's just that the movement in front of him has been piss poor. We must persist with him but it's a toss up between him and Llallana atm.

Although generally it will be Lallana that gets the nod, Suso also has to be looking at that performance and fancying his chances of displacing Coutinho currently.I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

Waste of space so far this season, thought there was a glimmer of hope after his cameo against Everton, so much for that!Last edited by Spaghetti Legs; 02-10-14, 03:02 AM.

No we musn't persist when he is playing like crap.Originally posted by Nigey View PostI don't think he was bad tonight. He played some wonderful balls to Sterling in the first half. A toss up? it's not even close when it comes to a choice out of him and Lallana.

He has real genius about his play and the way he handles the ball is rare. Hes a delight to watch but his game is being hampered by a lack of movement infront of him. He has great vision but if players aren't making runs he cant do his job. But its no surprise that Daniel sturridge and Philip coutinho are on the same wavelength.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI honestly think he has the talent and ability to be a proper superstar. I have no idea why it's not happening for him. But I think he's that good we have to persist. Good players link up with other good players, and he has a great on-field bond with Sturridge...I also think him and Lallana in the same team will work for us. But for now he's driving me crazy. He's been carrying this injury which *must* be affecting him. Now is no time to be giving up on him though. He's still a kid.
Daniel loves to run in behind and Philip can find him all from anywhere on the pitch.

BigChief and Nigel consider him to be our David Silva, see above!Originally posted by danperkins View PostCoutinho has a long way to go before he can even be remotely considered to be our David Silva.I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

Lol, yeah. Silva's problem is staying fit for long periods, but he's way above Coutinho's level, perhaps not in raw ability but definitely in consistency.I could not dig, I dared not rob:

Coutinho really has to get back to basics, because right now that is where his problems lye."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley
