Remember when folk said if Gerrard leaves it'll be the first time we won't have a bona-fide superstar at the club. We can forget that now, Phil is well on his way.
He's still not at that Harrods-level where Barca/Real/Bayern like to shop. You'll probably see a few BS Chelsea/City stories before the season ends like. Coutinho needs 1-2 more seasons of continued excellent before he can expect the big Spanish boys to focus on him.
He was so inconsistent in that first half of the season that I'm trying to not to overcompensate with now placing him in that David Silva-bracket of excellence in that no.10 role. He has the ability but I want to see it over a whole season.

I think that's fair enough, although I'd also say that Silva's form is patchy too. He's been underperforming quite frequently over the last 12 months IMO.
I honestly think Coutinho has a much higher ceiling than Silva too, he can do things Silva could only dream off. Plus he's only 22!
It's like you're not allowed to point out Silva's inconsistency. He is a great player - clearly - but he doesn't deliver routinely and has never been as productive as, say, Mata was at Chelsea. It's taken as read that Silva is the best no.10 type around and I don't have too many qualms with that because he is clearly a great player....but it annoys me that should you challenge it most people tend to go mad.
I also think Coutinho's ceiling is higher than Silva's. Not arsed.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Which is most likely fine by him. He's only 22. By the time he gets to 25-26 if he keeps progressing he'll have his pick of the worlds best clubs. Hopefully we'll be winning things and he won't be in any hurry to leave but I'd say it's pretty likely he'll be off to Spain at some point.
