OK, hear me out on this one, but i've been thinking over the past few days, and with Hendo being a bit of a **** over his contract, i'd make Coutinho captain when Gerrard isn't playing. There was 1 specific moment when i started thinking this and it was when we scored against Swansea (or during the after game analysis).
For anybody who didn't see it, Carra was talking about how once we scored, Coutinho was getting all of the players to join in with the celebration- telling the defenders to get involved. Brendon obviously wants us to do this as we generally have all 10 players in a huddle celebrating each goal.
For the goal, he was also telling Hendo to run on and he'll stay back and keep the marker occupied. He's clearly adding on-field leadership to his game.
He's also the most gifted player in the team, has seen constant improvement, is a match winner.
Not sure how vocal he is, but it wouldn't take much of a tweak to his game to make him more of a leader- and he's also a humble guy who signed a contract recently without being a dick.Originally posted by fah-qComment
