Often the way of things. Players who have had good first half's get overlooked for those performing better by the time the vote is carried out. It's how Bale won his, he was anonymous that season before Christmas.
If we actually had someone who could put the ball in the net Coutinho's stats would be higher. People seem to be obsessed with them these days when they are largely irrelevant.

Footballers are not the brighest bunch alright and live in the short-term. Its tough for them having to remember the way to the training ground every day, and still keep a memory of where the Ferrari dealership and Ivory backscratcher store is.

He deserves it. I think he's capable of better than we've seen from him too. Give him some pacy strikers to pick out and some more movement about him and he goes up another level or two.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
No ****n way would they sell him. He just signed a new contract but also, he will eventually become a mainstay in the Brazil team and then he will be worth a lot more..... We sell him now, it's 35m......in 3 years time he could be worth double that and go to a top team....
I liked him in a midfield 3 today to be honest.....with 3 players in front of him, then he is a lot better, he gets more of the ball and he is surprisingly able to toughen things up in the centre of the pitch as well....
