of course i wouldnt want us to lose him, but signing a new contract just gives us more say so if and when he wants out. we can set the bar higher and play hard ball, but we have no guarantee of holding any player. maybe he doesnt have a release clause, but if we say he isnt for sale at any price, then barca/real/bayern say, 40, 45, 50, then at some point we will fold.
