When Coutinho went off Milner (who was God awfully atrocious all game) was suddenly finding gaps and playing some delightful balls. Should have got at least one assist if we could finish for ****.

Coutinho might have that excuse but that excuse then applies to everyone. If he really is future Barcelona quality he needs to show it in these types of games. And he's the worst out of all our forward players that can't shoot for **** (the worldies are too few and far between).
    One tit for another.

He is fantastic on his day, we just need other players of equal or better calibre around him so that when he is ****e like tonight it is compensated for by others.

Origi was hiding last night, it was crystal clear. Not making the runs he should, not always showing for the ball. That's all confidence, or a lack of it. I think he's absolutely ****ting himself.

Former Liverpool player and football predictor extraordinaire Mark Lawrenson says that Philippe Coutinho is becoming a problem for Liverpool.

In his column for the Liverpool Echo, Lawro claims that Coutinho is far off the level required for reported Barcelona interest to come to fruition, criticising the Brazilian’s performances and attitudes. That seems more than a little harsh, given the responsibilities piled on Coutinho towards the end of Brendan Rodgers’ tenure.

‘Klopp has probably looked at Coutinho’s performances over the last few months and thought ‘”I keep reading about what a player you are, but I’m not really seeing it,”‘ Lawrenson wrote.

‘That inability to grab a game by the scruff of the neck has been a problem all season. I don’t think Coutinho is giving the team enough.

‘As for this talk of a possible move away from Anfield, Coutinho needs a bit of a reality check. He ain’t going to Barcelona or Real Madrid any time soon.

‘He’s in danger of becoming something of a one-trick pony. Stepover from the left, cut inside and have a shot. Stepover from the left, cut inside and have a shot. And so on.
Lawrenson even suggested that Coutinho could be dropped soon, which would be a pretty bold move from Klopp:

‘Liverpool are overly-blessed with potential number 10s – Adam Lallana, Roberto Firmino and even James Milner would fancy a run in the position – so Klopp could be left with a decision to make if Coutinho doesn’t get his finger out soon.’

            Lawrenson is such a ****.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Phil chips in with a goal and assist today. Lawro looks like a clown.

I tend to AGREE with Lawrenson. Couth. is a one-trick pony ON HIS OWN. When there is no Suarez running across the defense (or Sturridge) - then he has no-one with his vision of the game to play. It could be Firminio - but hasn't ticked yet. It could also be, that he should have some time off (like Sterling did last season) - just to reload his desire and creativity....??

Hope Klopp takes time to nuture him the right direction....

But he had his best season last year without either.

Coutinho has been struggling recently and Lawrenson's points aren't that absurd , but to call him a problem and a one trick pony is just attention seeking bull**** IMO.

Really struggling but for 45 mins today he had no striker ahead of him, what with Origi hiding the whole time.

You can see how down on himself Coutinho is.

He's too far forward, as many have said before. Milner is taking the position he might well be better in.

This is where Coutinho needs to be played - the transition fulcrum who can send the ball to the most appropriate area of the field.

Obviously when Henderson is back someone will have to be dropped - one of Can/Milner I suppose.

I'm a Coutinho fan but he's been dog awful all season.
Maybe a rest would do him good as he played through the summer, it may also give him the kick up the backside as well.
Whats not helping his causes is the lack of runners, but until we can buy some he's going to continue to have that problem - he needs to adjust his game.
The current trend is he'll try and beat 5 defenders and then shoot from 30 yards (same as Lallana).
He’s here! I *know* he’s here! That’s him, I’m telling you that’s him! You hear me? I’m telling you it’s *Keyser Soze*!
