A couple of years ago the talk was Couts v Oscar both being young Brazilians - well there is no doubt who is on top in that contest now.
You could argue that the poor assist rate is because we don't have players who can put the ball in the net, he has good delivery but so many times our strikers are in the wrong positions, I think if we get that sorted the assists will start stacking up.

My only complaint about Coutinho is his that he isn't clinical enough in front of goal, the positions he gets into he should be getting more
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

His high risk decision making combined with his ability to produce real magic is reminiscent of Luis Garcia, and I suspect the way the fanbase views him probably reflects similar.

For me, I wouldn't want to do anything to sacrifice those moments of genius to get a more economical player - I'd sooner he focused on sharpening up that final ball/shot, try to keep the high risk play but get even more end product.

Agree entirely - the strikers are not equal to Coutinho's movement and positioning most of the time and he works best with Firmino on the pitch as the "striker". This is why Gotze could be a very effective transfer - you can easily see him, Couts, Bobby and Lallana as the front foursome running rings around many oppositions.

Watching his highlights against Spurs, looks like he could have bagged a hattrick!

I think the variety of his creativity needs working on - at the minute he seems to need a player capable of making runs 'in behind' to be really effective. He appears to have the close control and vision to create in tighter situations.

He's inconsistent but what a talent! I do agree that he does need better players around him. Players just aren't on the same level as him.

Top scorer for us in all comps this season with 10.

That says more about us as a club for lack of goals than it does Coutinho.

I'd expect someone of his quality to be bagging 10 a season minimum.

youre right we are short on goals. you would expect your two main front men to bag 35 between them, and at the moment sturridge and benteke have 15. I think we can get another 10 goals out of firmino which should take his tally to near 20 and we need another 15 more out of lallana (5), milner (7), hendo (2) and Can (2).

We are probably about 40-50 goals a season down on where we need to be as a club.

                          Agree with that.

Hasn't helped that with Hendo playing deeper we have even fewer runners from midfield for him to hit, and we all know Studge has maybe not been at his explosive best.

I think he's great, but a bit inconsistent. Just wish he'd cut the diving out, some of its awful.
