I think we need to get competitive in the league and stop selling our best players, if we can have a good year this season and tell PSG where to go we can send a message out that will put us in a good position for the future.

I think that it helps that it's PSG, were it Barcelona as others have said it may be more difficult to keep he as they are more likely to turn his head.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

You can be certain that Barca and PSG in particular will be after him next summer (I doubt he is a Real Madrid type - not growly and angry enough!), it would be a bit of a coup to keep him assuming he is in form through the season but if he does go it'll be for an eye-watering sum. FSG will make sure of that.

Is he is going to go, the only reason will be a big pay day. The league is dire, PSG are not having it their own way as per usual in Ligue 1 & they are never going to win the Champs League.

Realistically us challenging for things & him getting a new bumper deal IMO should be more than enough to want him to stay with us, rather than join PSG. If likes of Barca come in, well that's a different story. He is only 24, he still has time to get his big move.

What would people's feeling be if it was something along the lines of PSG buying Coutinho and us buying Verratti?

Pie in the sky stuff most likely, but just curious as to people's opinions.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

There's no guarantee anyone coming in to the Prem will settle so I'll pass & keep the magician thanks.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Dele Alli would be a good replacement.
              Another MASSIVE game

We're looking to extend his contract so I don't think he'll be going anywhere soon.
                Are we winning?

Veratti is absolutely class & yeah we'd be lucky to get a player like that. I think we'll be calling Veratti world class in few years.

Are you kidding? I would offer Coutinho + a bit more CASH for Verratti!

As Veratti is PSG's star man these days I'd say he is going nowhere except Spain or Man City at some point!

Mind you this would be a worry

Suarez signed one and left 6 months later. If Barca come, he's off. Anyone else and I don't think he'll go.

Was a lot of talk in the summer about how he does not want to stay much longer in France and that he wants to go to one of England or Spain next summer.

If Coutinho were to leave then I would suspect Pulisic or Coric would be the replacements.
Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

I'd want Couts to be here a few more years yet though, he's ****ing magic.

I wonder if he did leave would Klopp use the money to bring in a high quality player for a different position (hence my Veratti post earlier) rather than try to replace Coutinho directly.

A high quality midfielder or maybe a Mane level or better wideman. Pulisic would be more a wideman style recruitment but I suspect he will be on Klopp's radar regardless of whether Coutinho stays or not.

Much as I want Coutinho to stay I do think that we have some quality depth in our attacking positions, and losing him would not be as massive a blow as losing some of our big names has been in the recent past a la Suarez, Alonso etc.
