Philippe Coutinho wants to win the Premier League and Champions League with Liverpool, and is not looking to leave the club.
Coutinho has emerged as one of the hottest commodities on the continent after a series of wonderful performances for the Reds this season.
The Brazilian already has five goals and five assists to his name in 11 games so far, and is reportedly Barcelona’s main transfer target in upcoming windows.
However, according to Rodney Goncalves, the forward’s former youth coach at Vasco da Gama and a current friend of the 24-year-old, Coutinho is not looking to leave.
“His ambition is to be in the list of the top 10 players [in the world],” Goncalves told the Daily Telegraph.
“Coutinho can be compared to Neymar, but Coutinho is Coutinho. He can become a very popular in Brazil and around the world like Neymar, he just needs to get a sequence of games in the Brazilian squad.
“There is pressure on him but it is not a problem. He plays at a big club and plays in the most important league in the world.
“Whenever we speak he always says that is very happy at Liverpool and his biggest challenge is to win the Premier League and Champions League with Liverpool.
“He knows that if he continues to give great performances for Liverpool, he will always be selected for Brazil.”Was muß, das muß.

The only question we need to be asking is whether Klopp will put Neymar in ahead of Mane?

we've got neymar on the wing, we had dreams and songs to sing...removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Barca and Real do this time and time again when they want a player, feelers are put out in the press .. it's ****ing annoying. Usually though if Barca or Real want a player, they usually get them at some point.
You wouldn't blame Coutinho to be fair, he is a supreme talent. The lifestyle, weather & the club itself is enough to draw most players there.... and that's not even going into the huge chunk of money he'll get. Said it several times about Coutinho, just enjoy him whilst he is here. When it comes down to it, the Klopp project might be going great but we are nowhere near the level of the likes of Barca.
The only thing that might make him question a move is the fact that, it can go very wrong moving to these big boys. Lot of the top South American players that think they've made it, go there and fail miserably. Sanchez, Riquelme, Geovanni, Keirrisson, Milito, Saviola, Kaka, Emerson, Samuel are just a few big names that have gone there and failed. Lots of big European names too. Also, will he get in every week? Barca and Real in particular are always looking for the next big thing, if there is a big name or flavour of the month they seem to want them. He is not guaranteed a spot in their first 11 and a few poor displays in a row, the crowd can turn. Sick of their fans to be honest.
Anyways, that's a small bit of optimism but I won't be one bit surprised if his head is turned.

I'd be very surprised if he doesn't eventually end up at Barca mainly because of the Neymar factor. If he goes they will need to cough up a serious amount of money.Originally posted by danperkins View PostBarca and Real do this time and time again when they want a player, feelers are put out in the press .. it's ****ing annoying. Pogba @ £90m is the benchmark and Coutinho is twice the player he is and getting better!
Re those South Americas you refer to - not many did well (Sanchez + maybe Riquelme aside) after Barca so they weren't good enough in the first place.
Emerson and Samuel were coming to the end of their careers and Kaka was shafted by Madrid when they bought fake Ronaldo and built the team to suit himLast edited by Irishnev; 14-11-16, 06:19 PM.

I thought Emerson & Samuel were only late 20's coming Madrid, Emerson bit older ( I may be wrong)? If i remember they were both bought for big money back then. Real paid guts of 70m for Kaka and was by intensive purposes a huge flop, injuries aside. I think the point i'm trying to make is that big south american names or current flavours of the month have gone there and failed. Maybe something for Coutinho to take into account if he gets his head turned .... which may very well happen.
He seems a good guy and is always complimentary about the club, but sure that means **** all. Enjoy him this season and sure see what happens. What a player he is & yeah if Pogba is worth £90m, **** knows what Phil is worth
