Never really expected him to play, but it's a shame, as he usually troubles City.
No point in rushing him back though and risking further injury. Give him 30 mins against the Pilgrims and if he comes through unscathed, maybe look to starting him against Southampton to get him match fit and ready for United.Last edited by RedReet; 29-12-16, 02:35 PM.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

He clearly isn't back to peak but he is going to be so key to the run home.
Such a relief to have him on the pitch. Lallana and Firmino peaked up and started making trademark runs too when he was on the ball. One tit for another.

Which is frustrating as ****. Why can't they just play their normal game.
We've seen it before and it isn't an exclusive problem to LFC either.

The sort of runs/sprints they make is not sustainable if the ballplayer behind them is going to be ****. Can, Lucas and even Weeji cannot feed them as well as Hendo or Coutinho. Add Sturridge into the mix who does nothing but stand around outside the penalty area for a short pass and you can understand why Lallana and Firmino withdraw into a more defensive mindset.Originally posted by labourRed View PostYup.

The sooner this little dude can get back up to speed and relegate Storage to the bench the better."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

That's a fair point but i'm not having it. It's a double edged sword and am surprised Klopp allowed it.Originally posted by BigChief View PostThe sort of runs/sprints they make is not sustainable if the ballplayer behind them is going to be ****. Although Origi is perhaps not quite flying either he offers significantly more in a game so it's also annoying Sturridge seems to be ahead of him. No doubt he's flying in training but actually putting a shift in during a game is another... I'd definitely cash in if it's an option as he definitely has lost his pace and we don't suit a finisher/striker like Sturridge - just like we didn't with Benteke.Originally posted by Harv View PostThe sooner this little dude can get back up to speed and relegate Storage to the bench the better.

I think you have managed to over simplify the position. Benteke and Sturridge are completely different, and the system will suit any striker who has a bit of pace and presses high up the pitch. Sturridge absolutely has everything needed to play the position adequately, but we are struggling with injuries and missing key players which has ruined a lot if our fluidity and incisivenessOriginally posted by labourRed View PostI'd definitely cash in if it's an option as he definitely has lost his pace and we don't suit a finisher/striker like Sturridge - just like we didn't with Benteke.
If we sell Sturridge, it will be because of injury or form, and not because his style does not suit.In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.
