I always thought that Coutinho would be perfect replacement for Iniesta to be honest. Not Neymar. But if Barca think that they can buy Coutinho to play #8 and Dembele to play left of the front 3, then they will have done well with the Neymar money.

If Coutinho does want to go to Barca, then we can all be gutted but i don't think we can disagree with his sentiment.

But if Coutinho is at all happy to remain at LFC, then we should turn down all money.

If, as I expect, Coutinho has told LFC that he wants to go to Barca if a deal can be done, then we need to set a price. And it is a bit tricky to tell Coutinho that we are ambitious to win trophies when we sign Salah, Solanke and Robertson. If we had managed to add VVD and Keita then that would be something - but right now we can't even convince Emre Can to sign a contract.

So to be fair to Phil, I think we do need to set a price. I would think something like £150m - that should allow Klopp to buy 3 or 4 players to make the squad stronger and the first team too. (although i have a horrible feeling that we won't managed to sign anyone!!) But if we don't have players lined up, then what is the point? We would still get top cash for Coutinho next summer as well....

Klopp has bought unbelievably well so far in his reign. He has spent **** all compared to Brendy. I'd like to see LFC back him as well as keep Coutinho for another 2 seasons.

All I'll say is not many players reject Barcelona. We will of pulled a blinder if he stays.

Thing is Neymar was sold for €195 mill ... Barca didnt want to sell him they had to because they got caught out with the release clause.

The question is what amount of money would it have taken to buy Neymar from Barca had the min buy out not existed and then where does Coutinhos value fall relevant to that figure.

It won't though will it. He already has that kind of money to spend but as we've seen this summer the very best players that can improve the squad aren't so easy to buy when the current clubs don't want to sell.

If clubs can be convinced to sell then players will want to come to Liverpool and play with players like Coutinho in the Champions League.

If we sell Coutinho then we will be back to needing to convince players to join our 'project' again AND convince the current club to sell.

If we are going to sell we should do what was done to us with Carroll. So if Neymar went for £195m then Coutinho should be £150m. I don't want to sell him though.

You start to get a little jaded when your favourite players get sold. Alonso REALLY pissed me off big time but that was Rafa's fault. Coutinho leaving would just kill me. Cant seem to buy any good players from other teams but no problem selling our best player. And to be fair games start around 10pm to 4am for my time zone. Its hard enough losing sleep to keep up with games but watching a team with players I dont really care too much for makes it even harder to keep doing it.

What do you take me for, some cheap floozy who latches onto every pretty face whenever the wind turns?! I need my time of mourning when he goes. I'm still not over Alonso

Irrelevant unless he hands in transfer request and even then..

If the 120 mil bid is true then it's time to worry as that is a realistic and good offer

They can't sell him unless forced though - it will be carnage.

We would pretty much have to take such an offer. Least we would have money to spend in January.

I'd buy kasper and vardy now. Strengthen the keeper position and vardys non stop running and goals would be a useful asset, especially in champions league.

Its relevant in terms of placing the correct value in order to fund an equal replacement. Transfer requests etc. change can change this depending on how strong the clubs stance is.
