Actually he is now trying to discredit Klopp a bit, saying he is unhappy about his role in the team and that their relationship is damaged, I find that poor form and proper underhand tactics. I also find it sad that these arseholes, him and Dembele can't see through these tactics from Barca. Barca doesn't give a **** about them really and will only buy one of them, the other one will have alienated himself from is club.

Yeah, but it's just tough **** isn't it?Originally posted by Fredo View PostWe tried this early in the window, not two weeks before it closes. It's a known tactic to put pressure on the club, but we tried to do it the right way and we pretty much backed off early.
I've no doubt if rolls were reversed we would try the same. VVD only put in his transfer request last week, we are clearly working a back channel with him probably through his agent. Don't get me wrong I don't want Phil to leave, but bleating about the tactics used seems unlikely to change anything and is at best totally hypocritical?Modifying post.

That article I posted on the other page had a graphic in it that I thought was worth keeping. Like Klopp said it's too hard to replace someone that effective to the team this late in the window.Originally posted by Charly View PostI think it comes down to signing a replacement. We need to do this before we sell or we are going to end up paying a premium on the premium

I don't know anyone available that would get anywhere near those numbers from midfield, so you're probably in a position you might need two players to replace him.
Bit like Suarez in he's never actually been replaced years later.
So keep.

From reports he only handed in his TR yesterday after the FSG statement so I'd say that's just a made up version.Originally posted by Vermilion View PostAnyone know if this is how it really went, he waits for training to end, then e-mails in a transfer request, then doesn't turn up for training the next day ?
What seems abundantly clear is this has been a plan for a long time and Keita was (to be) his replacement.

It's a blow for sure but I only want players that want to play for us. Get the right money and let him go. Although I have no confidence that fsg will spend the money and/or that we can make deals happen.
I am very disappointed in coutinho. I thought he was a decent honourable man. We took a chance on him and made him a star and we deserve better than this.

The overlap of the timelines. The fact that we went so high with the bid for Keita which was unprecedented for us and FSG. Something had to underpin that and it appears it was the fee we thought we'd get for Coutinho. The fact we couldn't sign Keita means Coutinho won't be allowed to leave.Originally posted by Cormack74 View PostAbundantly clear - how?

Torres was replaced with Carroll and Suarez. Suarez was replaced with Balotelli, Markovic, Lallana (after Sanchez deal fell through). Sterling was replaced with Firmino, Benteke.Originally posted by Big-Red-Ed View PostIt's a blow for sure but I only want players that want to play for us. Get the right money and let him go. If we had of got Sanchez, we'd have broken our transfer record after every big sale. Why would you expect different now?If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
