So did anyone see the Barca / Real game last night? Barca started off ok but ended up dreadful. They have as many problems around defence/midfield as we do. Coutinho is not a top tier player like Bale, Ronaldo, even Neymar. For a 150m euro player that won't be able to raise the performances of the club it won't take long for the fans to start moaning.
There is no now or never situation at Barca. They need about 6 or 7 good players now and next season. I think they know this too so I don't see them splurging nearly all that Neymar cash on Coutinho this summer (Iniesta will be used for another season). Dembele is a much higher priority as they seriously lack pace without Neymar. One tit for another.

Demise means different things for different clubs. As far as Barca are concerned being the 3rd or even 4th best club in Spain is a disaster (financially / brand wise, etc). There is no exaggeration whatsoever in that case.Originally posted by BillobShaisley View PostReports of Barcelona's demise have been greatly exaggerated. One tit for another.

Yep, Barca were poor overall, Ter Stegen reminds me of Hart, good but lacks concentration; alba seems to have regressed; pique goes thru the motions; inesta & busquets have done it for so long they just drift through games; Rakatic i would love at LFC, but doesn't suit barca at present. Deulofeu, he wasn't even good at everton, so how does he get a start.

It's definitely not an ideal time to be joining Barca.Originally posted by BigChief View PostSo did anyone see the Barca / Real game last night? Barca started off ok but ended up dreadful. I'm sure they will sell him by telling him they will rebuild the squad around him etc. but in reality they definitely look to be in need of a major rebuild.
None of it matters though, it's Barca, and that alone is enough to turn his head.

That troublesome issue with his back/lack of spine seems to have ruled him out of tomorrow's game:
Liverpool squad: Alexander-Arnold, Moreno, Lovren, Milner, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Can, Mane, Salah, Firmino, Kent, Solanke, Origi, Gomez, Klavan, Flanagan, Robertson, Matip, Grujic, Mignolet, Karius, Ward.
Still no Sturridge either
This season really does feel like groundhog day already.
