Thanjk you.

I can't believe that Barca would be so stupid & disrespectful with that offer breakdown knowing we don't want to sell. £16m up front when they've just pocketed £200m. Bellends
Don't ya know it as the transfer window closes & we still have Coutinho, We draw Barcelona in our group stages along with Celtic & some cannon fodder... Ya heard it here first!

Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!
The threat from barca to withdraw would only make sense if they knew that we were reliant on selling before bringing in our own deals. If you go down the line that others have mentioned, which is the plan was to always sell him. However I'm not so sure of this theory, on one hand FSG has form in the past but on the other we must have money kicking about from the TV deal. Time will tell.

That does not make sense to me.
If we needed to sell we would have done so way earlier and i doubt we would have made bids for Keita.
I feel that we have cash to burn, but are being (overly) selective.
Suspect the next 11 days will see a lot of things happen at LFC, but not a Coutinho sale

In a way it makes sense, in that if you buy before you sell people don't jack the price up as much as they would if they knew you had just got a huge transfer fee from selling your star player. Obviously it depends on you having money available from somewhere (loan from owners or somewhere else). But you would like to bring players early, although this is not alway possible as your signings may depend on other sides making their signings etc.
With the TV money and the fact that we have had low net spend in recent seasons we (the fans) believe that there should be money to spend. How much the owners will let us spend net is a different question.
I am hoping that we have things lined up and are waiting for the outcome of the CL qualifier before signing off on them.

I truly hope the next 11 days does see some activity & I agree that I believe we have cash to burn if the right players are available. We've got to strengthen regardless of if it's our 1st choice players or not. We need quality & depth.

Everything rides on CL qualification IMHO, wait until Thursday but I am adamant that VVD and Keita 'in' was only ever going to happen with Phil going out!
Worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but does not actually get you anywhere.

I think they made the threat of withdrawal for 2 reasons
Firstly so that Coutinho would further agitate to get his move
Secondly to entrench themselves at or near their current bid level
My guess is they will bid again. Slightly higher than their initial bid level with an increase in the amount of add ons and also probably more outlandish targets for those add ons
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
Why not, we should be looking at every single option.
Even Real Madrid, possibly swap with Lucas Vasquez and Bale?? Would love Asensio but he won't be going anywhere.
What I said was only half in jest.
Barca have put a valuation on Coutinho, and my thinking would be to see if any club other than Barca want to meet that valuation either through player sales or a straight bid.
We "buy" Draxler and Veratti for say £40m and £80m and they "buy" Coutinho for £120m.
or the same with your scenario.
Anyone bar Barca for me unless they want to send Suarez and a big wedge of cash upfront our way.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Then they can go & do one. They've been paid nearly all of Neymar's fee up front apparently so we should demand the same. That is of course if we are entertaining the offer at all.
Sod that, we're not offering him around, we don't wnat to sell tell them where to go (again)
