it's not as simple as that - we've got more quality players than arsenal had today. Ask yourself this: would flamini, eboue, clichy, almunia etc get into our starting line up? of arsenal's 11 today, i'd have henry, gallas and van persie, with fabregas on the bench. In theory, we should have won comfortably if it's all about so-called quality players.

Fabregas on Bench? WTF? On form this kid would be in our team ahead of Xabi, Zenden and possibly even Gerrard (who is not a happy camper by the way). Rafa made once hure mistake in the summer and that was letting the experience, control and calming effect of Didi Hamann leave the club and not replace him. To even Consider Zenden as a capable replacement was suicide!!

Assuming all players on top form, Fabregas would NOT get picked ahead of Sissoko, Alonso or Gerrard. Of course they all play different roles so it's hard to compare. Perhaps the closest comparison would be Alonso to Fabregas. This would be a tight call if only because my memory is too short to remember the last time Alonso was on form!

I'm thinking of Joey Barton, Kevin Nolan, Leyton Baines, Micah Richards etc come on we need a bit of fight and passion in their, these players would give us that in abundance and quality to go with it.

Possibly Micah Richards apart (and he's unproven at the moment) not one of them players are good enough for us, and IMO we have quite enough fcuking dross floating through the squad currently without adding more to it at god knows what expense.

Would these lads names be linked with the club quite so much if the werent scouse?

what we need is not new players. All the guys we have are capable on their day of a top class performance.

We need CONFIDENCE. We need a member of the coaching staff to stick a firecracker up the arses of all the players, get into their heads fire 'em up, old school style. Get some bloody passion and desire. We need to attack and get used to it.

What we lack at the moment is players of genuine pace, skill and attacking threat. The lads you listed are average footballers, who are no where near good enough for this football club, especially Joey Barton who is utter and total ****e.

Besides, after this summer I'm not really sure I trust Rafa with a massive transfer kitty to splash out on new players.

I'd take Kevin Nolan out of that lot. As for the rest no thanks.

Yes we seem to believe that once one goal has gone in then that's it. Whta happened to the Istanbul spirit? Left it there by the looks of it
