It's not revisionism - that's why I said "arguably". I agreed with sacking Kenny, and I agree Rodgers should be given more time. We have 3 points fewer than at this stage last season, but I have no doubt we will improve on the final points tally. If we don't then questions will rightly be asked.

I don't think the results were great in the last half of last season and he showed no plan or willingness to try and get a £35m striker he bought and a £6m defender (Coates) into the team and plan for the following season. He was regularly playing 1 up top even at home and we regularly dropped points.

I don't Rodgers is anywhere near the sack. Sometimes easy to forget that from Kenny's squad there is now no Kuyt, no Maxi. Maxi was criminally under-used by Kenny too. He has trimmed the wage bill hugely and brought through some very promising youngsters.

No getting away from defence being a huge problem though but it has been all season. Nowhere near wanting him sacked though

Disastrous performance - Really disagree with Rodgers saying they gave it their all, really thought there were a lot of slumped shoulders out there - maybe the two draws took more out of them than we thought?

I realise you're all for giving Rodgers time but the "Kenny got sacked for less" is a phrase often repeated on here to protect the legendary (and fair enough for that). However, Kenny arguably got fired for a lot more and a lot worse would be more accurate.

I prefer Rodgers' team to Kenny's, and I prefer the football. I didn't say Kenny got sacked for less, I said it was arguable - and it quite clearly and demonstrably is

or just other reasons. on pitch performance was part of it, along with a downward trajectory (which i don't think we can be accused of now--we are better than we were 3 months ago), and several other reasons i can think of. they might be worse, but they are certainly different.

Think you might be right. It's funny. When he tears them a new one in public he gets panned by former legends and fans. When he says they were good he gets slated too. You just can't win

Looking at what Henderson said in the Echo this morning he said they played pretty poorly and Rodgers had pretty much nothing to say to them. They knew how bad they were. So I think you're probably not too far from the truth
