Rodgers plays down Gerrard injury

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has played down concerns over Steven Gerrard's shoulder injury, denying the Reds captain requires immediate surgery in the summer.



First-team coach Mike Marsh confirmed Gerrard may require keyhole surgery next month after receiving a series of knocks to his shoulder this season.

The treatment would rule Gerrard out of the high-profile international friendlies against Ireland and Brazil, but Rodgers insists the injury is not serious and the England midfielder has not yet been locked in to go under the knife.

"There's nothing in that at all, really," Rodgers said. "You'll have noticed over the last year or so, whether he's been playing for Liverpool or England, he's had some taping and strapping on his shoulder - but there is no immediate surgery planned.

"We're just going to see how it goes between now and the end of the season. He's dealt well with it and performed remarkably well, so there is no decision on it at all."

When SFC played LA wasn't it Muscat? I wouldn't be surprised if its him. It won't be someone who has a job at Fox/SBS so that rules out Simon Hill or Mark Rudan who I really like for a starter... So yeah probably someone like Muscat...

Muscat is the Victory youth team coach isn't he? Hopefully they borrow the lads you mentioned but doubtful. It'd be good if someone from LFC tv came over & did the job here.
