We were ranked No 1 at one time not so long ago. We ****ing beat everyone, and I mean everyone. The only ones of the big guns we didn't play was united, but we done them a few times in the league.

We were obviously punching miles above our weight, consistently. That's what I took from it. We had no right to boss Europe but we did.

Also a lot of people seemed to dismiss the European Cup at the time, as though it was some minor Cup competition, while lamenting the fact we weren't winning the league. To me that was always crackers. The CL is a great competition and even better when you're **** hot at it.

This Europa League lark, by comparison, is so ****ing depressing - especially at this stage. But there are some great clubs left in it so let's try and win the thing.

I honestly preferred the old set up of the UEFA Cup and the CWC. But as you say, the CL, well that is magical.

Fair enough, don't want to get caught up with semantics. But as a general rule, in any season we finish behind manure (specially by lots of points most of the time) cannot be considered any kind of golden age in my mind.

I'm not too down. I love the club too much now. If we finish low down in the league then eff it - **** happens. My love for the club now is more no than it ever has been even though the team is in the worst state performance/league positioning wise since I've been a fan (1993+). In fact I no longer have much hatred for Man United and Everton. I do hate that ******* Evra though. I can't stand Chelsea actually, mainly because of their fans. They are vile clueless plastic ****ers.

Lucas needed a rest & Agger too, Lucas has looked leggy and bit cumbersome and really don't want to burn him out. Agger has been making too many vital mistakes. Hope Allen can drastically up his game. Worry that defensively our midfield is a bit fragile with that line up.

Sterling has gone off the boil since the contract, a big game from him would be most welcome.
