This season will probably be our worst in a long long time if you include the cups.

Was a decent performance to tonight, we couldn't put 4 past a team that was in the CL. No shame in that at all.

Lets ignore the everything and imagine it didn't happen.

We've just been knocked out of the only cup we were left in. We're miles off the top place in the league, 9 points off Spurs in 4th and out of everything else. But we just gave Zenit a decent run and lost in the Europa so is all good.

The good things though - Suarez is a god of a footballer, Enrique was boss going forward (roll the ball under his feet, driving on, strength, pace... ) and Lucas was nicking the ball away well - he could be coming back.

Lucas IS back. No doubts that is as sharp as he has been in a long time.

We did. Well spotted. However, we're out of the competition. A second European division. It's unlikely that we'll be in one next season.

We are 'in transition'. It was always going to be a troublesome season. If FSG want to feed BR's vision by getting their wallets from up their arses, we may transition sucesfully. Or not.

Well Hulk were able to score against Carra - and to run him down in a freekick.
                      Agger kept him under control
                      - and Enrique did his as well (made a super turn with Hulk on his back just in front of goal).

But the error from Johnson (poor tackle) + Allan (poor tackle) + Carra (mi****ting the ball) cost us that ONE important away goal.

Shelvey should play for the ressies for rest of the season - I felt scared he would have had a straight red for this mistimed tackle at Hulk.

Assaidi should play more to find more confidence in running forward along Suarez (and not leave him alone) - but will not happen with Coutinho in the team.

Gerrard did not enter the pitch before 44.min for a freekick.... and never really woke up (until his karate-kick in 78.min, which were denied a goal by a super-reflex safe).

Lucas did a lot - and kept things covered - but somehow it is scary, when the defense has to play across the pen.area several times, because there is no defensive midfield there to help them out!!

Henderson should avoid going close to the keeper - he is like Caroll, so every ref. thinks he pushes the keeper (even though both times the keeper fell over his OWN Zenit-players). He is good at long passes though (Hendo).

Downing seems to never do anything but bring the ball up the wing and cross it. If he is anywhere near a header, he looks scared - and he never attacks the ball in the pen.area, when it comes from the opposite side.

Allan managed to be offensive tonight - as an extra Hendo - did a lot of good stuff..

Suarez - so kicked down, so sure he can do most on his own - and so supergood, when it comes to freekicks with two good goals.

Johnson was not up to it tonight - had very few good crosses - although he has a good balance taking on opposition players, he was not so good playing the others.

Sterling - to small and to lightweight for this kind of battles yet - and to little time for an evaluation.

The match stopped after the 3rd. goal - then it was ping-pong instead!!!
                      - - - - -

Or you can accept we've brought in another manager trying to implement his style of football - it took Rafa a season to get it right.

We're playing some of the best football we've played in years, the results are still a little hit and miss which is no surprise but we WON the game tonight 3-1, battered them and went out due to a silly individual error which you cannot legislate for.

It seems to me you just don't rate Rodgers and rather than get behind the team take opportunites like tonight when we've actually won and won well to slate him.

                          I didn't ****ing say that did I?

Right then, what do we do? Our team has been crammed full of youngsters all season that are nowhere near ready. The addition of another striker has turned us into a much better side.

Your being very short sighted here.

Jesus. We just played well and won 3-1. We have just scored 8 goals in 2 games. It's a process that takes time.

Oh and not to mention we was robbed of a stone wall penalty.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
