If you look at the whole season, league and cups, then it is probably our worst since the 60's.

We play some great football in patches but the season is simply not good enough in a long way.

IMO the only thing that saves Rodgers is that it is his first season. He need time but another season like this and it is bye bye Rodgers.

Next season must be a lot better, a lot.

I don't really think it's so black and white. In terms of results, yes, it's been a very mixed season. Poor if you are judging the fact that we are now out of all knock-out competitions. But there are so many reasons to be optimistic. Can this season really be written off as the worst season we've had since the 60s? I disagree.

Some people will say that it doesn't matter how nicely your system works or how pretty the football is if it doesn't generate results. That is definitely true to an extent. Football is a spectator sport, however, and there is merit in a football team playing well, even if the results don't always back it up. That's why I refuse to see it as the worst season Liverpool's had in decades. Things could really be so, so much worse.

Rodgers killed the flow of the match by bringing on a double sub - Assaidi was a brave one but Shelvey wasn't right at all. Killed the fluency.

Right then, what do we do? Our team has been crammed full of youngsters all season that are nowhere near ready. The addition of another striker has turned us into a much better side.

Pretty gutted, they aren't a good side. The first leg killed us... and sure yet another individual error can be added to a very long list that we have been punished for.

Without Suarez we would be up **** creek, never gives up, never stops running & then there was Shelvey! Disgrace should sold, he wasn't arsed whatsoever. Sterling looks like a headless chicken out there, the kid needs a loan & Assaidi was average. The subs as many have said, absolutely stagnated us, we were pushing and had them under the kosh.... bizarre decision and gave them that bit of impetuous to get back into the game.

Gerrard and Johnson were appalling tonight, we really needed our best to step up and they didn't. Dominated the game but fact is we are out of yet another cup and the result is only thing that matters. Felt sorry for Suarez, he looked absolutely off his feet by the end of the game. Only so long a talent like that can stick around such disappointment.

Well.... at least we can concentrate on the league!

Tried his best - just lacked that special Stevie G moment. Worked his socks off.

I think its really easy to forget the first full Houllier season and the last Souness one. No way is this as bad as either of those.

I just remember those seasons as abject misery, the main difference being one was at the end of a terrible era and the former was the start of something that was quite a fun journey up to a point.

Its not great just now, but its not as bad as back then.
