I thought we were great, just came up short in the end, few points -
We lost because Suarez (mainly) missed straight forward chances to get the away goal in Zenit.
I agree the timing of the subs was strange but fans blaming our exit on Rodgers or Sterling or Shelvey are forgetting the away leg.
Its akin to the Chelsea fans slagging of Rafa because they're too scared to criticise Abramovich.
Suarez was phenominal last night but he was also bang average in Zenit.

Rightly or wrongly we have a manager and players who are learning on the job, I'm sure Rodgers will reflect on the timing of the subs but he's dammed by the final result.

Change his mind on the subs and if the score stayed 3-1 everyone would be criticising him for bottling the changes.
Rodgers is a brave manager, he has made mistakes but he doesnt die wondering.

Also agree that Sterling, Shelvey and Suso to name 3 need loan spells, Kelly went on loan and came back into the team and all those 3 are good enough to do that

Not much to 'get' mate. Every bad result for the club will be greeted by criticism of signings, manager, tactics, substitutions by some fans. I don't have an issue with people venting frustration on here as it's a forum. But some are so totally unbalanced in their criticism, personal it's bordering on pathetic and comes across as some just enjoy us losing and getting knocked out of competitions

I firmly believe he is. He is vital for us.

I don't think Rodgers sees that though - nor do most of the fans.

Re Shelvey - just a few months ago he was being preferred to Henderson and many of us agreed with it. He hasn't just lost that promise or ability, but his performances have been so incredibly poor since the red card v United. I think it's a confidence thing, which is strange as his confidence is probably one of his greatest strengths. I keep saying it but a season long loan at somewhere where he'll play every week will do him the world of good.

Well despite the result, I thoroughly enjoyed that performance in the main

Suarez was tremendous, as was Enrique and Henderson. Nice cameo from Assaidi too

Gutted we couldn't get the 4th, really looked like we were going to

Oh and that was never a penalty IMO.

Neto though, the ref took the piss with him. At least five or six fouls, possibly all of them on Suarez, and no booking.
