It will be extremely important to get the right blend and I think we'll see us challenging for the Champions League spots.

So much sense and realism in these posts.

We're getting incredibly carried away at the moment with everything. One defeat and the bubble will pop.

Compare our bench with Utds, Chelsea's or Citehs. They all have2 players challenging for a position. Katana scored a hat-trick and is likely to get dropped for the next game. We have nowhere near that depth and quality.

I admire the rabble rousing tone of the OP though

Absolutely. And that will take time too.

I love Arn's lack of middle ground; he's either buzzing and positive or downbeat and negative. It's like he sticks both middle fingers up to balance.

EDIT: Perhaps I should swap 'balance' for 'objectivity' - I'm not suggesting Arn has to stick his middle fingers up to stop himself falling over.

That game plus Bale's ridiculous form will cost us but I'm so enthusiastic for next season. Most optimism I've had since the end of 2008 season.

I only wonder why so many fans are so afraid being positive?

I think so many fans are so afraid being it that it affects the perforamnce on the pitch. The players are afraid doing mistakes. They are afraid of winning because we the fans could start to talk about CL places or even winning the title.

Every time the last few years after a win or two, we the fans start talking about a CL place and we know the result on the pitch in the next game. No three points. Why?

Instead of being positive and think win win win the players and many fans think when the next mistake that will cost us points will come.

It is not only the players that must start thinking more positive, we the fans must do the same.

Get the positie feeling back. We must get that winning mentality.

Rodgers is right talking about a CL place. He is also right talking about it time after time.

He must get the players used to hear about it every week. He must learn the players thinking positive all time.

He is also right talking about finishing even better than fourth for the same reason.

We as a club must get that positive feeling back after all the negativity the last few years.

Ok, I guess my point is that supporting a team at a match, in the football stadium is completely different to talking about it on an internet forum. Unless you support Chelsea obviously.

IMO Anfield have been a lot more quiet the last few years. You could even hear the fans boooo the players, not often, a couple of times every season.

If you look at the biggest clubs that win and win every year then players and the fans ozes optimism.

Fans talk about it in the forums, fans talks about it on radio phone ins, media talks about it then the media asks the manager/players about it.

Then the fans read/listen about all the negativity.

Do you believe that the players just blank it out?

No, I believe that the fans of this club generally leave the negativity outside the turnstiles. Apart from the occasional dark day under Hodgson.
