It'll be one of the centre backs we sign in the summer or Joe Allen

I can't look past Lucas. He is a monster for us when in form.
          *Except Michael, who died.

To be fair, he's quite far away. Any further and the curvature of the earth becomes a real problem without advanced telescopic technology.
            Oh I don't know.

              I agree on Lucas....

Agger is pretty vocal as well and when Carragher is gone next season then he will be the senior defender.....

Not sure Allen is vocal enough.....

I just hope it's not Ashley Williams....

If giving Suarez the captaincy was the only way of keeping him then I'd just give it to him. Nothing's more important than him staying.

                    Back on topic.

Does it even matter one iota?

Gerrard was about 21 when he got it. Was he a good captain then? Did it hold us back? Was he better than Hyppia? Did it improve us?
                    Oh I don't know.

Think Gerrard as captain has helped. The 2006 cup final for example. His sheer force of will dragged us over the line.

However saying that, I do think too much stock is put on the captaincy.

That's why you can see Liverpool from Essex, but not further without the advanced telescopic technology to see past the curvature of the earth etc etc.
                        Oh I don't know.

I think it's all about how much passion and drive the player displays on the pitch. So Suarez all the way.

Would his impact on the game not been similar if he was a mere mortal? We're talking West Ham, right?
                            Oh I don't know.

Lucas without any doubt at all.

Why, well, he is Lucas. If he played a **** game then he will admit it every time and say that it isn't good enough. The best isn't good enough, you can always be better than that.

A very very honest player that already lead by example on the pitch.
