I'm finding it conflicted to wax lyrical now, but that catch from Tadic's freekick that just bounced off the extremely wet pitch was a game changer. Many keepers would have spilled that to the oncoming two Southampton players. They almost looked crestfallen when nothing came out from under his abdomen.

It was a sensational hold considering the conditions. I've been as critical of him as anyone but it is frankly remarkable the turnaround in his game.

He's come out the otherside of a horrendous run of form and become a better GK; he's earned enough to stay at the club now and remain first choice. I'd look to sign a good quality understudy that can keep Mig on his toes.

Whoever comes in should I think be young but ready to play in all our domestic cup games. Mignolet has improved drastically but he's still a third tier PL keeper for me behind the likes of De Gea and Courtois at the very top level and Hart, Loris and Cech just below them.

Seriously though, what a turnaround!! I thought he was completely hopeless but he's playing like a proper warrior now

Although he's improved I still don't think he's good enough to be our number 1.

                  Just my opinion of course.

I still agree. We should still look to replace him. Hopefully he'll stay on and fight for the number 1 spot. That would be ideal.

Really had very little to do today, but just to nitpick, there were a couple moments today when his old, hesitant-self showed through.

he came out and jumped for one on the edge of the box, some shouting, his little balls are starting to sprout some hairs.
