Mig would be a good stand in keeper as he keeps his concentration well and has great reflexes but we really need a keeper with distribution skills.
Even Middlesbrough's keeper launched a few counter attacks against Everton today. It was only the lack of quality in attack that prevented it becoming a chance. Was muß, das muß.

Klopp is a fan of him, judging by his PC today. Clearly. I think Mignolet is a good keeper, very steady and has more or less eradicated mistakes he was making regularly last year. Still prone to the odd lapse, but most goalkeepers are. It's not easy to find a first class goalkeeper, the likes of Courtois are very very rare. Are we winning?

Don't see the point in the link personally.
We have conceded 15 in the league this season. Partly down to individual mistakes, and also partly down to how unsettled the defence was in the first 10 games or so.
Mignolet is getting better, but as mentioned if his distribution gets better I dont see GK as a problem area. Id rather we concentrated on getting in a strong commanding Central Midfielder.*Except Michael, who died.

Personally I'd find it less stressful if we had a different keeper. Clearly Klopp rates him though.
I don't think it is just his distribution that is lacking. He doesn't seem to have any authority in the box. Klopp made the point that he is still young. Players mature at different times so perhaps with Klopp's guidance he will progress in both areas now."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Hes hardly likely to come out and say "hes ****ing ****e, how he doesnt see our players free and available god only knows" is he??Originally posted by Fredo View PostKlopp is a fan of him, judging by his PC today. I'd take those comments with a pinch of salt.
Klopp is not Brendan. He doesnt seem to burn his bridges with players by talking about players negatively in the press. Hes got a squad theres sod all he can do to change that squad till January. Klopp to me seems to want to foster a team spirit and to do that you have to keep everyone on side. You dont keep people on side by endlessly criticising them in publicBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. At the same time you generally don't offer a new contract to a player you aren't interested in keeping.Originally posted by Lecter View PostHes hardly likely to come out and say "hes ****ing ****e, how he doesnt see our players free and available god only knows" is he??

Plus Mingolet is 'Premiership proven' as the saying goes, he's 27/28 I'd guess as I can't be arsed to look it up.Originally posted by Lecter View PostHes hardly likely to come out and say "hes ****ing ****e, how he doesnt see our players free and available god only knows" is he??

Giving him a new deal preserves his value, he's a very good 6th-12th place PL keeper so we'd make a profit on him if we sold with a few years left on his deal. The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.
