If we could merge Mignolet's shot stopping with Reina's everything but shot stopping, we would have a world class keeper.

What would we call this Frankensteinian creation? Simon Reina is a bit boring, but Pepe Mignolet sounds like an character from The French Connection.

Clean sheets highest in the league is 9 so not too bad given the troubles we've had at the back so far,though to be fair clean sheets are more a collective achievement. I like him and he'll improve over the years,hopefully be more comfortable with his feet too.Only concern for me is having not made any goal costing mistakes up to the City game,he's let in two weak ones since that game. Been making great saves too though so overall I'm happy with him he'll be glad to hear

I think mignolet didn't have a very good game vs stoke. He looked hesitant to come off his line and at times a little short on confidence.

Generally speaking hes been very good. That save from Gerrard was brilliant.

Read on another site some time back that when the first 50 shots on target against us from this season were compared to the first 50 on target from the season before, that Mignolet had ten more saves than Pepe or to put it another way Pepe conceded ten more goals than Mig.


Now granted it does not take into account quality of shot on target etc., but ten goals less conceded from 50 shots on target is impressive.

4 poor goals conceded in his last 6 games,3 of which cost us points,not on their own mind but they contributed.

Needs to sort it out.

A very good, young keeper that would look much better behind a settled back four.

Unfortunately, defensively (as a collective - defenders and DM) - we've been poor. Poor shape, organisation and a noticeable lack of confidence.

No improvement on Reina IMO. Reina had his flaws but wouldn't mind having him come in to make the Mig up his game. Poor decision to let him go on loan.

I honestly don't think he can be properly judged until he has a settled centre back pairing in front of him.

At the moment the whole defensive unit looks a mess.

Defence in front of him is embarrassing but he does look like a flapper at times. Great shot stopper but dodgy on crosses and his distribution is poor to say the least. Desperately need a settled backline in front of him.
