They are human yes. But they're not just like the rest of us. They earn millions. And if one of them isn't performing they shouldn't get another contract based on sentiment. In Brads case, I can't say if that applies. I'm sure he got it based on hardwork on the training field. And I'm sure he'd be the last person to blame a bad game on the death of his son.Originally posted by alonso14 View PostFootballers aren't machines mate despite what they earn. In the real world, if a member of my family died I'm sure my work would support me. But after a short period you have to get back to work, and if you don't perform you're out of a job.Forwards.......

Come to think of it, I think it was recently after the death of his son that he came on and saved a penalty in a game and then didn't put a foot wrong in a cup semi v Everton. I maybe imagining things but I think he looked to the sky after the penalty save. So fair play Brad.Forwards.......

Yeah I remember him doing that too. **** knows the sort of mental strength he had to be able to do that. When my cat passed I was shattered for months, no one could get me to do anything. And he walks out the next day after losing his son. He might not be the best keeper, or even the best average keeper, but hes always there when needed.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostCome to think of it, I think it was recently after the death of his son that he came on and saved a penalty in a game and then didn't put a foot wrong in a cup semi v Everton. Yeah he is. But before Matt comes in, he isn't of the required level to be our long term number 1, but for a Jan move, go for it.Originally posted by ChrisDR1968 View PostI've read rumours that we've been looking at the Norwich keeper.

Even with one leg Valdes would be better than the two hopeless clowns we currently have on our books.Originally posted by rcasemore View PostYup Brad Jones seems a nice guy but he should not be starting in goal for us no way at all.
Surely in the short term going in for Valdes would make sense (I've no idea what shape his knee is in)
