The comparison of these stats is pretty meaningless at the moment, the style of play and quality of footballers that both of them are playing with will also play a part in the numbers, from what I've seen of him though he looks a very decent keeper.

I think Mingolet is a shrewd signing whether Pepe is off or not, if he stays then there is genuine competition for the GK position which I'd hope would spur both on to be better and if he's off we've already got our number 1 keeper in place and not ending up being totally ripped off as we become desperate to find a replacement.

I suspect Reina is off either this summer or in January. I have nothing to base that conclusion from, just personal opinion. He has been a model pro the entire time he's been here. I suspect that if he wanted out, he would work with the club to make sure they have a replacement in before anything happens. I can't see us carrying two top keepers all season, with only league and cup games to share around. Mignolet will also want to challenge Courtois for the national team's #1 jersey in a World Cup year.

On a related note, that Belgian national team has some cracking players. I hope they make the WC. Used to be my alternate team back in the 80's. Great to see them bouncing back.

Got to say I think he's settled in quite well & OK the opposition haven't exactly been world beaters but there was one save yesterday which I thought was superb

Yeah I doubt we'll miss Pepe if this lad stats fit. Pep was hit & miss the last few years & hadn't saved a penalty since who knows when. We'll be fine.

Yeah it's only pre-season but still he's impressed so far. I love his attitude, he seems very confident. Looks like he belongs at this level. Seems to have adapted to passing it out from the back already too.

If he gets through the first few league games without dropping any clangers I think he'll have a brilliant season. He's going to pull of some world class saves too!

No, not as as long as we don't sign up a better goalkeeping coach. When keeper after keeper don't improve and instead get worse then the keeper isn't the problem IMO.
