I think he was rollicking his defenders for allowing the cross to come in; Not yelling what a great save it was.

EDIT: Not sure why it's not embedding?

Pretty clear that Carragher has the knife into a number of the current team regardless of how well the do or do not do on the pitch. Seems to have made a number of similar petty comments on his twitter account this season.

Was pretty obvious that Mignolet was giving a bollocking for the cock up that lead to him having to make the save.

What's that about him being selected LFC player of the season?

Mario was removed from the list so Mignolet was the next best.

Too be fair to him, he has totally changed his career around this season.

He has gone from the worst starting keeper I can ever remember, to having the most amount of Clean Sheets (13) in the league alongside Joe Hart.

Some of you lot are so down about everyone to see the actual good in a player. He has his limitations, everyone does. But he has performed in quite a few games since his dropping really well. Certainly helped us win a few points too.

Spot on. Mignolet has put in some very good performances this season after he came back from being dropped.

There have been plenty of good stops from him late on in games or in periods of games when we were under serious pressure.

He might not be a world class keeper, then again there may only be one or two of them per top league, but he is still a damn good keeper and one who has shown the strength of character to come back from an awful run of form and from being dropped.

If a few more of our big name players or those who think they are mega money players had the same sort of strength of character then maybe we would have had less players phoning in performances this season.

His shot stopping is second to none. In fact, I'd probably say world class. I've also been quite impressed with his punching recently.

But if you watched those games where he kept the clean sheets, there would have been at least one moment of madness in each game where it could have led to a goal but thankfully it didn't.

When I watched the Chelsea game, we were completely on top of them and then there was a pass back to Mignolet which he completely ballsed up (got caught in two minds) and gave the momentum back to them. It was just so unnecessary and out of sync with the rest of the play that came before it. It's just irritating.

If he was playing for any other side, he'd probably be considered one of the best in the league but the way we play, or the way Rodgers want us to play, requires a proper footballing goalkeeper, really comfortable with the ball at his feet. There aren't many out there, but I think that if we're insistent on playing this system, then we should have got one in the first place...

I think he's done very well in 2015 after an appalling first half to the season. He commands the area better and has pulled off some fantastic saves. His weak side is his distribution & unfortunately at this stage of his career its not join got change.

Same could be said for the players in front of him though, Skrtel in particular seems to have a lot of those moments, and some of the back passes that get played to Mignolet are of awful quality and not needed in the first place.

I think if there was a bit more quality in the back line then we would see Mignolet having to only do the basics with his feet and concentrating more on what he is very good at.

Look at some of the best defences in the league in recent years and with only a few exception they have keepers who would not be regarded as being quality with the ball at their feet. But what is in front of them is generally well organised with the keeper and backline playing to each other's strengths more often than not.

I think that even a peak Reina would have been exposed by how our back line (and our attempt at having midfielders sit deep) was playing at the start of the season.

Brendan may possibly like the idea of a ball playing keeper, but having a keeper and backline who can work well in getting the basics right more often than not should be what comes first.

Reina had a nightmare trying to play in that role for us. He was amazing at picking out long balls but struggled with the quick ball playing keeper role that Rodgers seems to want. Mig has a lot of trouble with it too, can't see him ever being that kind of keeper either. Personally I think when Rodgers came in he forced that system on us & we just didn't have the players to pull it off.

But is it a realistic thing to want a sweeper keeper in our set up?

A keeper who is uber comfortable with the ball at his feet still relies on having a backline in front of him that are very good on the ball themselves.

If we look at the top teams in the five main leagues, then we don't see a lot of that type of keeper.

Even if we extend that to the top four teams from the five best leagues in Europe, we still end up with far more keepers that are good stoppers than we get keepers who are good stoppers as well as being good with the ball to feet.

Manuel Neuer is the exception in that he is a brilliant all rounder, and you have guys like De Gea, Bravo and to a degree ter Stegan who are better than average when the ball is played to feet, but guys like Buffoon, Courtois, Hart, Lopes, Cech, Weidenfeller, Benaglio, Casillas, Moya, and Sirigu are to varying degrees far better at other aspects of goal keeping (things like positioning, shot stopping, reflexes, composure, mentality) than they would be at receiving the ball played to feet.

I would go as far as to say that up to three quarters of the keepers playing for those 20 teams (top four from the five top leagues) would have suffered as badly as Mignolet if they were between the sticks for us for the first half of the season.

An awful lot of the goals we conceded came about through poor marking, big gaps in midfield, defenders wandering off etc., and as such I think even some of the best keepers in Europe would have look average to poor at times playing for us.

He's really turned it around and is clearly under instruction to play it out simply to avoid conceding possession. Sometimes we should boot it long though to mix it up and he's not too bright at that.

We only scrutinize our own keeper, I'm sure most keepers have a bail out moment in games, we just don't see it
