Is the ref allowed to let them take a quick one once he's sprayed foam on the ground to mark the position of the ball? He sprayed the ground, so we naturally assumed he was going to mark ten yards, then they took it quickly while mignolet was starting to set up the wall. Clattenberg ****ed up procedure IMO, even if you could argue we should have been more alert, or had someone standing on the ball to prevent the quick one.

tbibg is Kenny you've drawn your line in the sand with him a la Markovic from very early on. He's not as bad as some have made out over his time with us BUT time and again he makes ridiculous errors that cost us, mistakes you'd not expect top keepers to make on a reasonably regualar basis.
For me he's not good enough and we should look for a long term replacement to contest the keeper spot with Karius.
I mean anyone with decent eyesight could see the goal last night whilst hit well was down to him not being ready, a PL keeper at a top club not ready for a FK

They didn't take it quickly, the ref blew his whistle 4 seconds before the kick was taken. Ming just wasn't paying any attention. That one is all his fault.Originally posted by calvoboy View PostIs the ref allowed to let them take a quick one once he's sprayed foam on the ground to mark the position of the ball? I've been bang on with both. Markovic clearly didn't have the fight to play in the Pl from the off. Mignolet is a decent keeper and people's disdain for him clouds their judgement, they see every mistake he makes as reaffirming and ignore the fact the other keepers do similar things regularly too. He had a very dodgy period and that has stuck with people. He's not one of the best but it is very hard to get one of the best so we try and replace him but there is not guarantee that we end up with a better keeper. Klopp tried in the summer and bought one who is inferior at the moment.Originally posted by RichC View Posttbibg is Kenny you've drawn your line in the sand with him a la Markovic from very early on. You've not though, in your eyes you're right on both in my eyes you're not. Markovic didn't make it with us but you decided he wouldn't be good enough from day one, that's drawing a line in the sand from the start rather than based on his appearances for us you ended up being right. Mignolet I dont't think you're right on. You think you are and fair enough you have an opinion but time and again he has cost us goals through poor decisions, being switched off in the game and terrible distribution in fact he was dropped for Karius for these reasons earlier this season who also didn't make the most of his chance hence Mig has come back in.
I'll reaffirm what I said earlier I don't believe we'd see the likes of De Gea, Cech, Courtois or lloris would be making these mistakes. Granted getting a top keeper in is difficult but we need to try and improve on what we currently have as he's not to the level we require going forwards.

If we can get a worldie then great, but when we have no full back cover, the wrong strikers, only one wide player and only one top class CM, upgrading the GK falls down the list of important things to address, despite the cries of liability.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

They took it after he'd marked the ground with his spray but before he'd marked the wall, is my point. Usually spraying the foam means you're going to pace out 10 yards and and allow the defending team to set the wall. If he was going to blow his whistle and allow the "quick" one, he shouldn't have sprayed. And once he'd sprayed he shouldn't have blown his whistle until he'd finished spraying the ten yards.Originally posted by chadrtc View PostThey didn't take it quickly, the ref blew his whistle 4 seconds before the kick was taken. What are the actual rules concerning when to blow the whistle to take the kick?Originally posted by calvoboy View PostIs the ref allowed to let them take a quick one once he's sprayed foam on the ground to mark the position of the ball? Why would he blow so soon, without us setting a wall up; rather than wait for all that to happen?I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet
