I think it is different for GKs to outfield players, most outfield players will get opportunities at some point where as GKs are waiting for an injury or suspension.



I don't understand how Mignolet's situation has come about, I am fairly confident that the club wouldn't have stood in the way of any serious offer for Mignolet. If a decent offer had come in surely we would have just brought in a backup GK and moved him on. Surely the situation was that no one wanted him, which isn't the club's fault.

Or his wage demands were unrealistic or he thought he was good enough to wait for Barcelona and Real Madrid to fight over him.

Well I would assume that with someone like Mignolet who the club aren't overly keen to keep they would let the club speak to him and then a hammer out details of a transfer fee etc after, maybe his wage demands were the reason that we weren't getting to that stage but again it's not the clubs fault.

The only way that LFC are to blame for this is if someone came in with an offer and agreed terms with him and we said no we want to keep him as backup. In which case he would be letting us know about it now. Or we refused permission to let him speak to other clubs, but I just don't see either of those happening.

Nobody is to blame, it is what it is. If a player has a contract they just need to get on with it. But Karius has said that the klopp wanted him to stay but he decided he wanted to go this summer. Doesn't take too much imagination to see how that decision scuppered any plans that Mignolet had.

Yes, although from what I read wasn't Mignolet frustrated that Karius was allowed to go on loan when he was denied the same opportunity? Potentially the fact it will likely become permanent makes the difference, don't think he was right to feel hard done by on that front. Like you say, there's obviously going to be irritation at being held to contract having not secured a move before Karius, but that's just tough cheddar.

Yes it's definitely not the clubs fault, I'm inferring it's Migs fault.

As someone has said earlier he's had since January to find a club because he pretty much decided he wanted to leave back then and he could have gone to exactly the same club as Karius and the rumors say it fell through because of wage demands.

Got to believe we'll have to replace him this summer making a decent saving on the 80 odd k a week he's on. Don't know much about him but Lossl from Huddersfield looks like a decent unstudy off the back of a few MOTD mins, although he's 30 already.
