Free kick to United at the edge of our box after a rash swing of the leg from Lussey but we retrieve the ball.

Peterson manages to cut inside and plays a little pass in for Dunn but he's not chance of getting to it before the keeper. The whole Smith-Peterson wing play has been ineffective tonight. Smith hasn't played well at all.

[Venton]

Having said that he cracks a great cross across the box, first decent one. Must have been an accident.

Maybe I'm being harsh, but he needs to be doing more than that and his first touch there was ****.

[Venton]

A bit of interplay but us gets the ball into Dunn in a crowded penalty box. He can't get it out of his feet though and it's through to the keeper.

We're starting to do some silly fouls here.

[Venton]

The team are completely disjointed today, everyone miles away from each other, no-one showing for the ball or willing to help out their team-mates. Very, very frustrating.

Dunn gets booked for dissent. One more and you're off says the ref.

Bijev on for Brannagan and his tefal quiff.

Ooh, close on there but the flag was raised anyway. Flick on header from Paez to Peterson who heads just over from an offside position. United time waste like *******s. I would too.

[Venton]

****, Bijev misses a sitter after chaos in the United box. It bounces around for a bit then Lussey just manages to scramble his way to the bank and from the keeper's save Bijev sets himself and then skies like a bonnie babe. It was probably his first touch but I'm bellyaching now.

[Venton]

We pile a few crosses in and put the United keeper under pressure but he takes well. Too little too late from us? Could this be the second time in a week we lost to a disciplined team? Is that United player really called Donald Love? Yes, he is. Don Love. Good name.
I know someone called Dick Silver. The ladies love him.

Texeira fires just wide, good pressure.

[Venton]

Last minute of normal time. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say we don't really deserve it. Bijev heads just over to prove me wrong. Corner. Could this be it?

[Venton]

Five minutes of stoppage time. Terrible corner by Texeira. It goes back in high but Ramos takes confidently for United.

[Venton]

Steve Hunter, our commentator, says the team have given their all. But I don't agree with him. We've looked sloppy and lacking in concentration and we don't deserve it.

[Venton]

Peterson with one on target at last but it's easy for the keeper.

[Venton]

United have one last shot on goal? They're back in control.

And it's all over, Liverpool 0 - 1 Manchester United. A poor, poor performance, a lack of collective spirit and individual concentration and application. They've let themselves down, they've let their team-mates down, they've let their families down, and worst of all they've let me down.

Hopefully they'll learn from this.

[Venton]

It's a disappointing note to go out on but it's been a hell of a ride with the U21s this season. Hopefully they'll reflect on this and come back wiser, older, better and less irritating. They're a decent side and this last match doesn't sum them up in any way.
