Pre Season Tour thread

The Reds will depart from John Lennon Airport this afternoon for the 12-day trip with 25 players on board the plane, including new signings Luis Alberto, Iago Aspas, Kolo Toure and Simon Mignolet.

They will be joined later on in the tour by Luis Suarez, Sebastian Coates and Pepe Reina, who have been given extended time off by Brendan Rodgers due to their involvement in the Confederations Cup in Brazil.

Liverpool will take on an Indonesia XI in Jakarta on Saturday, July 20. They'll then face Melbourne Victory in Australia on Wednesday, July 24 before wrapping up the tour against Thailand in Bangkok on July 28.

So they won't reach Indonesia until early hours on Thursday morning (Indo time)! Ridiculous, but necessary, evil I guess. Not much time for training though, probably why they were super-fit against Preston...got it all out of the way beforehand.

You see some of those pictures and it shows you the moronic nature of some of our fans who moan about tours like this and think we should play local friendlies (and nowhere outside of Liverpool). Our fanbase is huge all over the world. Need to start tapping into it
