Minimum target for the coming season

We've seen progress under Brendan, nobody can deny that. And now he's shaping the squad into something he can call his own.
Last year, despite those improvements in playing style, I think that the final league position was just about acceptable. There was still too much inconsistency. So the jury is still out for me.

So what is the bare minimum level of achievement for the coming year? Top 4? Europa League qualification? Good performances in the cups?

If we don't qualify for Europe, should he get the boot?

    Oh I don't know.

Probably 4th place. Win a cup on top would be a welcomed bonus.

But in any case, I don't think he'll be under pressure as long as we show progression. I think we'll do well though. I'm really looking forward to the season.
    Are we winning?

You're opening up a can of worms. Also until all clubs have done their business its very hard to answer this question.

          Further progress.

          Finish above Everton
Get the team to gel, there will be a fair few changes
At least 1 good cup run given we have no Europe
Probably no lower than 6th and closing the gap on the top 4

To challenge for the top would be hope for this season.

For me as things stand today were nowhere near top four.

                  Maybe creatine will help.

The entertainment level went up massively, for that he deserves a lot of credit. I haven't enjoyed watching Liverpool so much for years - to the point where the ultimately lowly league position and lack of trophies was made just about acceptable (a real high point being the humping of Newcastle United)

The second raft of signings were excellent - Sturridge is a fine addition and we have all fallen a bit for Coutinho. Joe Allen and Borini might have been injured, but they haven't looked like sound additions so far.

A lot depends on who has been brought in and who is due to come in - I'd be disappointed if we started the season with no more additions to the squad, though there is a level of intrigue and optimism about our 4 signings to this point.

I think Liverpool need a cup win. There's no European football, so the FA Cup should be given a high priority. This will win FSG and Brendan a lot of time and favour.

For me, with the squad as it is now, I'd see anything below 6th as a failure. Anything less than a long cup run will be very disappointing and some big questions will need to be asked if Brendan can't manage that.

                      Challenge for 4th, Cup Run.

This should be the season we capitalise on manager changes amongst other things.

With no Europa league to distract us we really should do our beat to move back into the CL, step one of this would be ensuring not to sell Suarez to Arsenal.

Score as many goals, conceed fewer 2 good cup runs or win 1, qualufy for any Europesn football.

Alt: gash all round and scrap into 4th
                        Football without Origi is nothing

                          Really doesn't affect us

Chelsea change manager all the time and they've brought in Mourinho
City have already spend £90m on a squad that was already better than ours
United are United, they're miles ahead of us even with Moyes.

And even if it did, you still have Arsenal with Wenger looking to actually spend and Spurs a year further down the line with their manager (if he doesn;t leave for Barca).

Pellegrini is being cast as some kind of failure already by the press, which is ****ing ludicrous - they'll improve with him. Moyes doesn't matter, United will keep winning for a while at least.
