Ill never be able to watch it because Womens football really isn't that good. But I don't watch Scottish football for the same reason.

Brendan Rodgers delivered a heartfelt message of congratulations to the Liverpool Ladies following their Women's Super League championship triumph on Sunday.



Matt Beard's side saw off closest challengers Bristol Academy to lift the trophy for the very first time, courtesy of a penalty from Louise Fors and a later effort by Katrin Omarsdottir.

The Northern Irishman has taken a keen interest in the Ladies' progress since inviting Beard and co to Melwood in pre-season, and the boss shared his appreciation after guiding the men to victory at Sunderland.

"I'm absolutely delighted for them," Rodgers told Liverpoolfc.com.

"We've been a part of their story from the beginning of the season. I wished them all the best and good luck.

"I'm sure they're going to have a really good night. It's a wonderful achievement; from where they finished last season, to grow and be up near the top all the way through the season.

"To finish a pressure game and win it 2-0 was remarkable. Congratulations to them and hopefully they have a good couple of days."

Liverpool ladies aren't my team, they're associate with my team and share a name but they're not the team I support. Well done to them, and I'd rather they won than lost, but apart from that I'm not really arsed. Why should I be?

How is the Ladies team run in terms of CEO, budget etc?

I'm not clued up in terms of the finances involved.

Liverpool Ladies secured the 2013 Women's Super League title in style with a 2-0 win over championship rivals Bristol Academy on Sunday. Here is the best of the action in pictures.

Matt Beard's side did the club proud as they claimed their first ever Super League championship.



A penalty from Louise Fors and a strike from Katrin Omarsdottir was enough to secure a 2-0 win over Bristol and secure the title.

Overall, the ladies fired 46 goals in just 14 games and conceded just 19. They won 12 games and lost just two league games all season.
