They destroyed us at the Brittania and shut us out at Anfield last season so clearly they're not that dreadful. Actually it's been 2 and a half years since we beat them in the league so let's try and be realistic here.
If Hughes has changed their style of play then fair enough we should win but if anything remains of Pulis' anti football park the bus style of play then we're in for a frustrating afternoon.

      That was pre Coutinho though.

Will be much harder for a big cunt of a CB to come through the back of him like Suarez when he's playing out wide and drifting into space.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I agree we should win but past form would suggest that we need to be cautious in our expectations about this match.

They got just 14 points in 2013 in the league. They were a shambles. Now they've appointed possibly the one manager who could make them worse.

The reason we've struggled in the past is our complete lack of cutting edge and inventiveness up front, we were terrible at breaking down ****ty teams like Stoke.

          Those days are gone.

We will absolutely annihilate them from the face of the earth.

Clearly those days are not gone because we couldn't break down West Ham and Everton at Anfield just a matter of months ago. Yes, we've improved at breaking down so called lesser teams but we're still susceptible to being frustrated and shut out.

We scored more than any other side in the last few months, those two results were very much the exception and we have signed more attacking players with more to come yet, and have pushed the defensive line up which will have a big impact.

We'll soon see I guess, I think it will be ****ing carnage personally. Hughes is clueless.

How awesome would it be if we battered Stoke? I cannot remember the last time we comfortably won our opening day game. Would make a nice change.

                  1987 springs to mind.
                  .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Arsenal away? Silver kit? Aldo, Barnsey and Beardo?

I don't know. I just remember (perhaps wrongly) it was 5-1 and one of those three got a hat-trick and the others both scored as well.

Trust you to focus on the colour of the shirts.

Think you may have your matches mixed up. 1987 was Arsenal away and we won 2-1 (wearing the new silver kit).

Cannot find a 5-1 type score in these years.

Ok, my mistake. I can't be bothered looking up what game I'm thinking of then.

                            I probably imagined it anyway.
